These are all games that I will be looking at this week. I am really liking a couple of them on the surface but we will see after doing a little homework. Should be a great week starting Tuesday going all week through Saturday.

Middle Tennessee State (3-4) -1.5 vs Arkansas State (3-5)
I usually like to take the home teams and the points in these kind of games and on the surface I normally would. Unfortunately after looking a little bit deeper into this one I think the play is MTSU. The reason for that would be Dasher. The guy was out in the beginning of the year and has returned now and after a couple of weeks he looks like what everyone expected him and MTSU to be,,,, a good football team. I went against them three weeks ago vs Troy and cruised to an easy 29 point victory. It was Dashers first game back and he had alot of rust. In his last game he rushed for 66 yards and threw for 219 yards with two touchdowns and one interception against LA Monroe. I compare LA monroe to Arkansas State. These two teams are very similar in my mind and I think the outcome should be very similar. I was actually really impressed with Arkansas State two weeks ago against Indiana, covering the spread but with the defense the way that it is, ranked 116th in the country it is kind of hard for me to put my money on that statistic, especially when the game is almost a pickem. Arkansas State loves to throw the ball and are pretty good at it unfortunately MTSU is pretty good on the defensive side of the ball and should be able to contain them. I will play this game tonight mostly because it is the only game on, if it was on Saturday probably wouldn't touch it but really do think that Dasher gets the job done tonight and wins by 8-10 points.

South Florida (4-3) -10.5 vs Rutgers (4-3)
South florida Wow! dont really know what else to say. I mean two weeks in a row they cant break the 10 point mark and then come out on national TV against a Cincy team that has momentum and puts up 38 points on the road. They looked like they could have scored when ever they wanted to. I have been on this team since the 2nd week of the season against Florida when they were leading with about 2 minutes left in the second half and through a costly interception which gave Florida a touchdown going into half and the momentum. I took them against Syracuse, went against them in WV, and against them in Cincy. My record is 1-3 on there games. Determined to have a winning record by the end of season. I really like them this week. Rutgers is a team that I feel will not win another game all year. If you look at there schedule it is brutal. 3 road games and 2 at home vs Syracuse and Louisville. They have only played two road games all year and have struggled in both. they got the tar beat out of them last weekend in pitt. and struggled mightly vs a horrible FIU team who currently sits at 2-5. I also love the fact that after two weeks on the road South Florida will be coming home with plenty of rest and coming off a big win should be pumped to keep it going. I think the new offense that Holtz has put in place might be turning the corner for this offense and should be able to keep it going on Wednesday night. Rutgers is really struggling on the offensive side of the ball ranked 109th in total offense. On the other side of the ball USF has what some people consider the quickest defensive core of linebackers in the country. They are extremely quick off the ball and should be able to apply pressure all night. Another thing that you have to look at in a game like this is special teams. Rutgers punter averages 33 yards per punt, which puts him at 96th in the country. South Florida ranks 15th in the country averaging 14 yards per return. This will put South Florida, if Rutgers goes three and out starting on there own 20, in rutgers territory all game. I would not be surprised to see a punt or kickoff return in this game either. I hate to bring this fact up but the recent tragedy to there fellow player is something unfortunately that does not get off of these young kids minds. May all of our prayers be with this young man who still has no feeling from the neck down after a brutal play a couple weeks ago. I think Rutgers just doesn't match up well in this one and with the rejuvinated offense from South Florida last week, South Florida should have an easy time of it winning by over two touchdowns.

NC State (6-2) +3.5 vs Clemson (4-4)
I am blown away by this line. Clemson is just coming off a loss to the laughing stock of the ACC in Boston College and NC State is coming off a huge win against a very good Florida State. I am really dissapointed this year in Clemson after starting the year 2-0 they went into Auburn played there hearts out and got beat by 3 points in OT. Since than they have only won 2 out of the last 6 games. Kyle Parker who I thought was a decent QB has looked absolutely awful at some points this year. He is ranking 96th in the country in passing efficiency and there running game hasn't been that much better this year. I keep looking for a bright spot on this team but there truly isn't one this year. They have given up only an average of 18 points a game which is a very good number but unfortunately they are only putting up 27 points a game and that is an over inflated number due to the fact that they put up 58 against Presbyterian. Nc State is coming off a big win where they had to come from behind to beat a very good FSU team. This to me shows alot of heart and tells me what this team is all about. If you remember the VT they were winning the entire game and gave up a big lead to lose going away. They were just coming off a let down game loss in OT to ECU and could have easily gone away. I see Russell Wilson having a big game again. There running attack should be able to have success and should be able to control the clock. It was very interesting last week how NC State controlled the clock in the first half by running the ball and I would expect the same this week.

Due to weather and again some more research my play on tonights game will be the under at 58.5 points. I would still definetly lean towards MTSU to win this game but I feel with the two teams combined averaging roughly about 56 points per game and with the weather calling for rain I will take the safer play which is the under. ASU relies heavy on the throwing game and with MTSU relying heavy on the run with Dasher this should be a low scoring game. My earlier prediction of a combined 56 points will now be lowered to the total ending up in the upper 40's.
