Since you're pretty confident, how much do you have riding on Pitt?

Haven't bet it yet, lot of Cane bettors that haven't found the window yet, hoping the wait will be worth it. As for the amount I'm going to bet, I'm a small timer, won't have much in dollar amount on the game compared to most around here. Lot of high rollers posting here at SBR, I am not one of them. Unless something drastic happens on the line just a standard 1 unit play for the Irishman.

Ok so then you're not as confident as you say you are. If you really thought a team would win by 14, and they are being given 3.5 points, you'd bet more than 100.

miami is the better team and is going to be motivated off the OSU loss. although im not putting much on it because it is a thursday night away game

Pit is depleted and playing poor, Miami is a bit overrated but still have a good enough Def to stop Pitts only weapon (Lewis) like everyone else, even A D-II school can give them trouble. Weather may keep it lower scoring which helps Pitt, but Miami wins by 4 or 5 in the end

I am leaning towards Miami to cover. But every time I bet on a Pitt game Pitt pulls out some BS trick out of their little hat. So I am walking the line.

patty i hear what you are saying and you make a lot of valid points in all your post in this thread, and i honestly can not stand taking public road favs (especially during the week) but i would argue that pit is every bit as poorly coached as mia is. harris is a turnover machine waiting to happen but i never know when those games are coming. on the other hand pit is so predictable and i just dont see mia having much of a problem shutting down the rushing attack and that is basically all pit has . tough game and if it was on sat i wouldnt even be considering it but i just can not back the stache in this contest, maybe under is the best play?

Yea nc state was home but the public pounded them so it seems like the books gave that play away. I'm just saying I don't think it will happen like that 2 weeks in a row when this is the only game it's gonna have alot of action on it

Miami has much more speed than Pitt. In past years, little fast running backs like Dion Lewis have been highly ineffective vs Miami. We get torched more by big power backs who go up the middle and try not to beat us around the outside. Pitt's DB's cant match up with UM's WR's at alllll, Travis Benjamin and Leonard Hankerson should have a field day. There was a bright spot for UM last week with the Oline playing very well, give Jacory Harris time this week against a weak secondary and he should have a muchhhh better game in this rebound spot for UM. I don't see how the Oline doesnt play well again considering that Pitt is missing Romeus, their star DE.

UM moved the ball pretty easily vs OSU, they just kept shooting themselves in the foot in the redzone throwing INT's and missing a FG last week. UM played pretty much as bad as possible and they only missed the cover last week by 3 points (+9, lost by 12). Canes is the play tonight folks, by 7 points IMO.

I have been going back and forth on this game all week.

I could honestly see the game going either way. I want to pick Miami but I can't do it. The three point spread is probably right on the money.

I think the under is this best bet here.

I heard that Pitt has some injuries that could be crucial to tonights game. I have been on a few sites and get varying information.

Anybody know to what extent and what positions these guys may miss playing time?

Special teams win this game. Miami scored 2 TD with special teams vs Ohio St and had 400 yards of offense. Pittsburgh will not cause problems with their below average defense and those TO's that Miami had with Ohio St will be points scored for Miami. My model has Miami scoring in the mid 30's and Pittsburgh scoring in the low 20's for this game which is good enough to cover the -3.5 bet.

One more thing. If the line was Miami -2.5 then the sharp play was going to be Pittsuburgh but since the line is Pittsburgh +3.5 the sharp play is Miami. You see what the books are doing? If they give you Miami -2.5 you will hammer it but by giving you Pittsburgh +3.5 they are bating you to take the FG and hook for the home team. Classic cat and mouse game by the linesmakers. Well I have been around for many years and I ain't falling for the cheese.
