everyone wants to play the home dog on thursday night.............but Miami is in a huge rebound spot and i expect them to win

Pitt is 1-10 against ranked, non-conference opponents since 1996.

The Panthers have received minimal contributions from perhaps their two best players. Defensive end Greg Romeus, the Big East's co-defensive player of the year in 2009, is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a disc in his lower back.
Sophomore tailback Dion Lewis is healthy, but the nation's leading returning rusher from 2009 (1,799 yards) has been held to 102 yards on 35 carries.
"Defenses are zeroing in on him," Wannstedt said. "It's not going to be easy any week."

Seems like Pitt has a few problems and teams have figured out how to stop them offensively

Miami is 14-1 against Pitt since 1984 including a 7-1 record at Pitt

dave dumbstandt is the pitt coach. if here's the ball harris wants to keep the ball with his team on offense they should win this game easily. hand it over harris is very friendly with his balls on the road.

my gut tells me Pitt but common sense says Miami, so Ill stay away, I see no real advantage either way. Backing a road team on Thursday nite vs a home dog with 10 years of pent up revenge isnt smart, but backing "the stache" is a losing proposition also

I can't play Pittsburgh. Wannstedt has burned my money in the past. I want to think he has improved but in reality he is a sub par coach the majority of the time. The trouble with Miami is I can't trust the qb Harris. He can win or lose this game single handed. Most likely I will play small on Miami, watch the game and learn some things for later on in the season.

Harris made a couple poor decisions @ Ohio State. If you watched the game it was raining the whole time I believe. But he did have 4 INT's I think. 2 of them were in his guys hands and somehow slipped thru and the Ohio State defenders seemed surprised they had a football in there hands. Another INT the receiver ran the wrong route and Randy Shannon even said at half time, that the Receiver messed up the route.

Miami hasn't played against Pitt since they were the juggernaut of the 80's and 90's. Their offense was so bad against Ohio State it was sickening. Pitt isn't a pushover man, I wouldn't go ahead and pencil in Miami for a sure win.

not to be a jerk, but it wasn't raining the whole time during Miami-OSU. there was some rain, but it wasn't persistent and wasn't a major factor in Harris' performance. that said, with a week off to think about it and against Wannstedt (and Pitt without Romeus), looking like Miami, the under, or no play to me.

Hmm I thought it was raining or drizzling pretty much the whole game. Like I said though 2 of his INT's were off his players hands, he would of had a decent game, and it would of been closer if he only had 1-2 turnovers. But Ohio States Defense is superior to Miami's, and we shouldn't really be comparing the Ohio State game with Miami, and how Miami will play against Pitt, they aren't even close to the same teams.

Nope, not saying that at all, didn't mention them being ranked. I am saying this is a poorly coached, wildly inconsistant team going on the road and giving up more than a FG on this Thursday night match-up. The talent level most associate Miami with has run dry, the days of them having sprinter speed all over the field is over. They're the wrong side tonight, you'll understand more after the game is played.

PS - never tried crack, did a few lines back in the day though.

We don't need to hear from every square in the forum telling us they're playing road chalk tonight, last I looked over 2/3rds were on the Canes. We get it, you guys also bet Duke, Dallas and the Yankees on a regular basis as well. No idea why the Canes are getting so much respect, they could get blown out tonight. They could lose this game by double digits VERY EASILY, in fact that is exactly what I expect to happen.

Pitt 27-10!!!! 'Nuff said.
