Houston starting RT Jarve Dean was kicked off the team for the old standby, "unspecified team violations". He becomes the 2nd offensive linemen kicked off the team in three weeks. LT Art Tatum was kicked off the team at that time for the same reason. Punt returner A.j. dugat was also dismissed at the same time as Tatum. So Houston loses two offensive Tackles in 3 weeks.

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia linebacker Montez Robinson has been dismissed from the team after an arrest on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery/family violence.
The Clarke County Sheriff's Department says Robinson turned himself in Sunday on a warrant issued Saturday. Officials at the jail said he would likely have a bond hearing on Monday and they could release no further information about the case.
UGA head coach Mark Richt released a statement Sunday saying Robinson was removed from the team because he did not meet "stipulations that were placed on him as a result of previous off-field issues."
Robinson was suspended in December after an arrest on charges involving altercations with a female student.
The freshman from Avon, Ind., played as a backup last season.

Thanks Dane. Things have been a little "shakey" out here in Southern California, if you get my drift. This guy could never learn to control himself. I wonder if he will be able to keep his job at McDonalds after he is kicked out of school.

Yeah no kidding. This kid was a 2nd string SEC all freshman team, so he had a decent chance at making something as a pro. The stupidity of some of these kids astounds me.

Serious charges for those two. Assaulting a cop is no joke...

Yeah, it just irks me though. Given all the off the field problems for Penn State the last couple of years, you'd think these guys would know they're under a microscope.

In one of the strangest moves so far, Alabama starting Safety Robby Green will not play for the Tide this season. There has been absolutely no reason given for this. He will keep his scholarship, and practice with the team. As far as I know, there has been no arrest or violation of any team policy by Green. This really hurts Alabama, who only had two starters returning from last year on defense. Now they are down to one. Sounds a bit like last year's USC team, if you ask me.

Tennessee Senior QB Nick Stephens is leaving the school in hopes of going to a school where he can start this season. His departure now leaves Tennessee with Juco transfer Matt Simms and Freshman Tyler Bray as the only two QB's on the team. For a team full of defections this spring, this can not be good news. Whatever new HC Dooley is doing at Tennessee, it is not working at all. The program seems to be stuck in reverse.

Texas A&M Defensive Lineman Adren Dorsey has been suspended from the team after his arrest for domestic violence. Dorsey, whio is battling for a starting role on the A&M defensive front line, and who weighs 305 lbs, allegedly put his ex girl friend in a choke hold, then slammed her onto the hood of his car, and then slammed her into the ground. Nice work, Mr. Macho!!!

Mark Richt dismissed UGA QB Zach Mettenberger from the team for violation of team rules

Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who had been in a three-way competition for the Bulldogs’ starting job, was kicked off the team Sunday by coach Mark Richt.
Richt made the announcement in a brief news release that said only that Mettenberger was dismissed for violation of team rules.
The dismissal apparently is related to Mettenberger’s March 7 arrest outside a bar in Remerton, Ga., near Valdosta. Mettenberger, 18, was charged with underage possession/consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, obstruction and two counts of having false identification .
Georgia associate athletics director Claude Felton told the AJC on Sunday that “there was not a new incident involving Zach.” Felton said Richt informed Mettenberger of his dismissal Sunday.
Felton declined further comment and said Richt would have no comment Sunday.
Reached by the AJC on his cell phone Sunday night, Mettenberger said: “I’m not going to talk to you, sir.” Asked if he wanted to address the dismissal, Mettenberger replied: “No thank you.”
Richt previously had said Mettenberger would be suspended for at least Georgia’s Sept. 4 season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette because of the early-March arrest on the five misdemeanor charges, but the coach had left open the possibility of added punishment if more information became available about the case.

He must have really been a dumb ass. I worked at that strip of bars in Remerton in college...you really have to be causing some trouble for them to bust your chops like that. Funny that it all happened in Valdosta, because that's probably where he'll end up now (Valdosta State)

To go from a one game suspension to being kicked off the team is a huge leap. Maybe this guy was not going to cut it, and Richt saw an opportunity to use him as an example and to lay the law down to the rest of his team.

its been confirmed by UGA that his dismissal was not related to the charges in Valdosta but cause of seperate team violations.

Tennessee Fresnman Safety Darren Myles Jr. was arrested for the usual Saturday Night, that being under age drunk in public, resisting arrest, etc...Tennessee HC Dooley said that he would look into the matter before meating out punishment. Come on Coach. Everyone knows the drill here. You start with a one or two game suspension. If the kid is a troublemaker, since he is only a freshman, you kick him off the team to make a statement.

Texas RB Vondrell McGee was suspended for the opening game and placed on the taxi squad for an arrest for drunk driving. Further disciplinary action may be taken against the RB. McGee proves once again that college football players, are the absolute worst drinkers in the world, and do not have enough brains to legitimately get into college.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- University of Arkansas officials say two football players were arrested on drug possession charges earlier this week.
Zack Higbee, a spokesman for the athletic department, confirmed Wednesday that the players are 19-year-old David Gordon and 20-year-old Hunter Miller. Both are listed as sophomore defensive backs.
Campus police say the two were arrested Monday evening after an officer noticed the two sitting in a parked car. Police say marijuana smoke drifted out of the car door when opened and a "plastic baggie of green leafy substance" was in plain sight.
Kelly Cantrell of the Washington County sheriff's office says the two players were booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and released later on individual $660 bonds.

BATON ROUGE — LSU center Bobby "T-Bob" Hebert was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly backed his vehicle into a parked vehicle outside a fraternity party on the LSU campus."It was him driving to the best of my knowledge," LSU Police spokesman Blake Tabor said Sunday afternoon. "Every indication we have is he was the driver."Tabor said Hebert agreed to an alcohol breathalyzer test and registered over the blood alcohol content limit.
Hebert, a 21-year-old sophomore on the football team who started 11 games last season, was released from jail at about 3 p.m. Saturday, Baton Rouge attorney Nathan Fisher said Sunday afternoon.
Fisher has represented athletes from LSU and other schools for three decades.
"I don't know a lot right now," Fisher said. "I haven't seen a police report, and I haven't discussed things fully with him (Hebert). So I don't think it's appropriate to say much now."
Fisher did add that he was very impressed with the way Hebert handled himself.
"He's extremely humbled by the experience," he said. "He impressed me as a strong willed, high character young man who comes from good stock."
Hebert's father, former New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Bobby Hebert of Cut Off on the Louisiana coast, returned a phone call Sunday but politely referred all questions to Fisher.
LSU coach Les Miles said he plans to meet with Hebert and will have a comment concerning the player's status today, according to LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette.
Hebert is known as T-Bob, but his full name, Bobby Hebert, appeared in the Sunday Baton Rouge Advocate's daily listing of DWI suspects arrested with 10 others. The address listed for Hebert was in Alphanetta (actually Alpharetta), Ga., which is where his mother Teresa Hebert lives. His father is remarried and lives in the New Orleans area, where he works as a talk show host and commentator on

BOULDER — University of Colorado junior linebacker Brandon Gouin has been suspended indefinitely from the football program due to his alleged involvement in an off-campus incident last week, athletic director Mike Bohn announced Monday.

Gouin was ticketed on suspicion of providing alcohol to an underage person, a class 1 misdemeanor offense, punishable by up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Head coach Dan Hawkins issued the following statement Monday afternoon:

“Brandon and our team fully understand our standard of ‘Excellence with Class.’ We represent the entire CU family and community and take that responsibility very seriously. We vigorously educate our student athletes on a regular basis regarding the high standards we expect from our team members. Brandon will be disciplined accordingly. We established our philosophy of excellence on and off the field since arriving here and will continue to sustain our efforts. We will not tolerate any behavior that deviates from this philosophy.”

In addition to team sanctions from the head coach and the athletic department, Gouin also faces a referral to the Office of Judicial Affairs, as well as whatever criminal penalties under the law. Each is considered separately and one is not dependent upon the other.

Gouin, 21, graduated from Boulder High School in 2007 and was admitted into the United States Air Force Academy. He transferred to CU after one semester and became a walk-on member of the football team. The 6-1, 220-pound inside linebacker saw action on special teams for the last six games of the 2009 season, where he assisted on one tackle and had two knockdown blocks.

If the probable cause affidavit filed by Indiana State trooper Tony LoMonaco is accurate, chances are that backup tight end Mike Ragone will not be a student at Notre Dame come autumn.

On Tuesday LoMonaco, who first arrested Ragone and a female passenger in his car last Saturday for marijuana possession, filed a report alleging that Ragone gave the two baggies of marijuana to his girlfriend to hide in her purse as they were being pulled over. According to LoMonaco, the Notre Dame senior-to-be waived his right to remain silent and said that the marijuana belonged to him.

Ragone, who sat out the 2008 season with a torn ACL, could be suspended from school for the 2010 season, one that held great promise after he caught six passes for 75 yards and one touchdown in Notre Dame's spring game on April 24. Ragone caught six passes the entire 2009 season for the Fighting Irish.

Earlier on Tuesday, news broke of Ragone's Saturday morning arrest, just one day after the last day of final exams. LoMonaco had initially stopped Ragone's 2008 Dodge Charger at 8:22 a.m. for allegedly doing 83 mph in a 70 mph zone on the Indiana State Toll road, a.k.a., Interstate 80, just a few miles east of campus. At the time it was reported that LoMonaco smelled the odor of marijuana and, upon a search of the vehicle, discovered two bags of marijuana in the 21 year-old female's purse.
