Simply that I didn't want to split my play and I didn't want to go bigger than 3u on the game. I did consider going 2u on OU TT under and 2u on Bama -17, and they're certainly correlated, but playing multiple angles full-game doesn't seem to work very well for me. If i didn't have OU TT available at my shops, I'd play Bama -17 rather than game under, that's for sure. Bottom-line: I think that OU TT under 17' is the best angle here, but that doesn't mean that I don't also love Bama -17. That said, as a general principle, I'd rather find another way than laying 17 no matter how much i like the side.

Also, Oklahoma's defense is decent. If they can keep things relatively tight early, it's not unthinkable that they could hold Bama under 30. I think that there's a better possibility of 26-10/28-13 than I do 40-20/41-23.
