Give Me Some MMA CONTEST Ideas....

What kind do you prefer??

Do you like contests that string multi event for say more Pts risk?

Or separate contests for individual events?

Pick the outcome of all fights/ or Everyone Risks a set $$$ amount say $1,000?

Only problem is I'm not sure how many of you are SBR Pro and would have to be in order to transfer Pts. But I think we'd have a decent group of posters interested in contests here.

i think the contests were fine the way they used to do them. single event. charge everyone 5 SBR pts. pick the winner, round, and method.

if its a betting contest, then it would be better over several events, imo.

also, i think its B.S. that they dont have the $200 sportsbook deposit to become pro. Now they want you to spend 2K on amazon, or subscribe to a fantasy news blog or some crap. can you pass this message to the powers that be. i dont really care about any of the benfits that come with being a pro, i just want to post on "nunya's one way ticket to valuetown" thread but he restricted it to pros only... like a real asshole.

I personally prefer the longer term ones so that you can have a league table of sorts rather than one off. BUt guess if you keep doing one-off ones you can still record people's track records

I know, it blows for us US residents. I was hoping they had some more unique options with start of football season.

I think they are looking into other charity options as well.

These contests would be just between the group of people that wanted in, not SBR backed contests. So a 5pt entry with say 20 people would only give 1st place 50pts, 2nd 30 and 3rd 20.

I can link a contest page in PlayerTalk also to get more action on it as well. With a lower risk we should be able to get a few more contestants, then again... More to grade as well.

I never got to play it, but I remember Vaughn had a contest that actually wagered 'money' or fake points that each game player was awarded as a starting bankroll for each major mma event. Being that this is a betting forum I think this would be a bit more fun than the traditional 25/25/50 (method/round/pick) scenario that's used in the sherdog fantasy, loiosh's contest in the SD forum and others.

Each player places their bets at some point before the event starts, documented with real live odds that you include when you place the bet.

You have rules to the types of wagers and bets you can place (such as no more than 500 down on a -200 or better favorite, if say you're given a $1500 starting roll for the event; or you have to risk at least 200 of your roll on +140 or better dog during each event). I can't remember the different wager rules, but I remember Vaughn had a few in place.

The ranking of the ongoing game is basically based by who has profited the most cash overall, accumulated from each mma event since the game started. One 'game' can have say 4 mma events and then you add up the profits for these events to get the winner of that game, or it could be a neverending ongoing game / ranking game with no limit of mma events..

obviously those who start playing the game asap will have a profit advantage (assuming they've been winning) over those who missed out on the first event or two for a game and wanna join in thereafter.. so perhaps there is something that can be done about this, like give the option to pass on an event but be able to carry over that inital starting bankroll and use it in the next event you decide to play, Or at the last event of a particular game you can allow max wagers using as much profit as you want / have no wager rules for the last event of a game...

I don't know if any of this makes as I'm kind of out of it lol, but I'm sure someone else that knows what I mean with this game or have played a similar game can explain it better...

I liked this type of game, even though I didn't have the chance to play it haha... It sounded fun and lets you gamble against fellow degens here.

I like the contest mentioned above more. Its more in the capping spirit where odds play a factor in your plays and picks. That contest has the potential to be very interesting.

Our most esteemed head Mod Bigday may be able to get SBR to throw some more points into the pot as well. The more points there are to win the more likely people are to stick with it and not miss/skip events.

Yea man, 200 pts would be good for a multi-event contest. The biggest inconvenience is the 2 pt transfer limitation for non-pros. Main reason I didn't do the previous ones.
