For better or worse, I just can't bring myself to ask others for handouts. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you then I guess it's an OK existence just smoking pot & scrapping by but I didn't care to be "the dude" once I turned 21-22.

Believe it or not, Scrubs is the most medically correct show of the three. All the wacky, zany, quirkiness aside, the patient's presentation is plausible, patient workup & management is usually bang on and the whole ER/CCU/ICU/OR experience is not overdramatized like on ER or Grey's. Also residency is a lot more comedic than people can imagine... Things like having nicknames for patients and other House of God'isms. If you don't have fun while you're working up to 120 hours during some grueling weeks then you'll burn out. Thank goodness those days are over though.
