
UFC on FX 2 play by play and live results

SYDNEY – MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) is on scene and reporting live from tonight's UFC on FX 2 event.
The event, which features Martin Kampmann vs. Thiago Alves and the opening round of the inaugural flyweight tournament, takes place at Sydney's Allphones Arena. The main card airs on FX, and FUEL TV and Facebook carry the prelims.
Follow along with our round-by-round updates and official results beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT (9:30 a.m. Saturday local time) for the preliminary card and 9 p.m. ET for the main card.
In addition to the three-round headliner, which thrusts the winner into top title contention, the flyweight tournament semifinals determine two fighters who will fight for the UFC's first-ever 125-pound championship later this year. The matchups include Joseph Benavidez vs. Yasuhiro Urushitani and Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall.

SHAWN JORDAN (@savageshawn) VS. OLI THOMPSON (@OliThompsonMMA)
Round 1 - Referee Steve Perceval in the cage for the night's first fight, a battle of heavyweights. TOuch of gloves to start. Jordan moves forward in southpaw stance. He misses a few pawing shot, but a straight left lands. Thompson retreats and answers with a combo. Quick clash, and Thompson seems to wince a bit from a Jordan combo. Jordan crisper with his punches early, and uppercuts are landing. Stiff left for Jordan, but Thompson answers back. Big punches early. Thompson's left eye damaged already. Two minutes in. Big right for Thompson, who seems to be finding his groove now. Jordan with a right and an uppercut, and a big knee follows. Thompson hits the deck. Jordan follows to finish, but Thompson crawls up and tries to grab a neck. Scramble, but Jordan regains control of the flow and drives a few knees in from the outside. Thompson gets off the cage, and his right eye is now worse than his left. Still, he moves forward. Jordan very comfortable, flashing head movement and driving in. Thompson lands a Superman, and they brawl. Crowd loves it as the come alive, and the guys high-five entering the final minute. Jordan landing best to end. First close to big applause, and MMAjunkie.com gives a fun one to Jordan, 10-9.
Round 2 - Big punches again to open. Thompson comfortable in the pocket firing, but he's wincing when Jordan lands big shots. Jordan's corner calls for a takedown. Thompson showing heart and firing, and he lands a big kick to the leg. Thompson leans in with an overhand and gets warned for leading with his head. Perceval wants more action. It's a moderate pace, but both are firing nasty shots. Thompson misses a Superman but lands to the thigh with a kick. Jordan moving forward and scores a crisp one-two. Jordan the faster fighter, and he's a little more accurate and technical, as well. Thompson shoots, but Jordan stands him up and counters with punches. Jordan again flashing a little head movement and driving punches to the head and body. He moves into the clinch. Two minutes remain. Thompson definitely looks to be tiring. JOrdan lands a hige uppercut, and Thompson is hurt. Still, he stands in the pocket. Jordan showboating a bit, wagging his chin as he moves forward. More punches, including another massive uppercut. Thompson drops after eating a knee, and Jordan swarms. Punches come, and that's it. Great finish, and Jordan celebrates with a backflip.
