But, actually there's some nebulous information on the net about Akiyama having a background in Karate along with Judo, and that's what's killing that country's MMA infrastructure. Not alot of head movement when you're doing katas, and Judo's great as long as you're fighting off people wearing something with the thickness and tensile strength of a business suit.
