    JEAN PASCAL over HOPKINS
Most sportsbooks have Pascal as high as a 3 or 4-1 favorite.

I think more correctly, Bookmaker.com has him at -220

I like that bet at those odds a lot.

Hopkins' biggest wins in recent years have been against SLOW fighters that PLOD forward and allow hopkins to set his feet and then move constantly, keeping his opponent constantly off balance. Guys like Tarver and Pavlik and Wright. Guys that struggle with fighters who have quick feet.

Hopkins' only losses in his career were against FAST, ATHLETIC, and (usually) BLACK fighters. i.e., the two fights against Taylor and the loss Jones Jr. like 20 years ago. Calzaghe being the only exception to the black part, but more then applies.

Pascal is probably a bit better then Jermaine Taylor, although probably not by much.

At the same time though, Hopkins has aged 5 years since those fights. He is 45 years old...

I just find it very hard to see Hopkins, at this age and knowing his history against fighters like Pascal who fight in spurts and have fast hands, pulling this one out.

I LOOOOOOOVE Pascal at -220. I think it hits for sure.

Do I think Hopkins COULD win? I mean, he is one of the smartest fighters ever and his trainer Nazzim is probably the best strategist in the bizz sooo... yea. But Its hard to see for me

Hopkins won't be able to stop him and he'll never get the nod in Montreal so yes, Pascal should take it.

pascal fight like calzaghe if you remember that fight he kept slapping him with combos hopkins is not going to let him steal the round he will be holding him for a long time in the corners thats whats pascals vunerable too if he keeps backing up the chances of hopkins setting his dirty boxing are highly likely. for sum reason i won't touch this fight i think it might be a set up and hopkins wins a split decesion in high way robbery.. remember judges, referes just because its in montreal doesn't mean there all canadien judges. boxrec.com can give you some info.

The line has been moving down (less chalk) quite a bit the last 10 days ago. I think Pascal was around -325 on my book, now -250. I wonder if there will be any "smart money" coming in on him late to drive it back over -300? Should I take the -250 now? If not, how long should I wait before betting?

Despite my agreement that Pascal seems like the play, it seems crazy to bet against Hopkins. He's made fools of gamblers more so than any other fighter I can remember.

to be honest pascal has to beat him in every round to beat b-hop it feels like one of those high way robbery type of fights i think karma hits b-hop with more controversy but this time he will be at the good end of the stick. real fishy lines b-hop might be old but he still has a few tricks up his sleeve.

@goblin - whaddya mean by fishy lines? Wasn't the public just loving him at +260 all the way down to +190 - where he is now - on my book? They've seen him win at those odds the last four times in a row they were available on him, so they figure it'll just keep happening, no?

they want the general public to be split on this decision. my more know name is hopkins. If hes the underdog which he is there selling the public that he's old and washed up. That maybe the case. Pascal has not fought anybody other then chad overated dawson. i remember a year and a half ago b-hop wanted to fight dawson but the money didnt materialize meaning dawson trainers were scared of b-hops pedigree of dismantling opponents before the fight. As much as i hate to say it b-hop might be are generation lamatta. He will destroy great up and coming fighters but lose oncxe in a blue if he's the favorite. I don't k now if you seen ragging bull but thats what b-hop is were ever the money is he'll take it. unfurtunately the public is 50/50 on this fight. I don't see this as a problem because the more it's that number the more i like b-hops chances. if it becomes 60/40 for b-gop the more i like pascal. just keep looking at the odds if they keep changing the better i see it for b-hop. b-hop is in great condition for his age. pascal is in great condition as wel l but is his mind saying he is the better fighter. i know one thing b-hop still thinks he's the best fighter in the world. I really do think b-hop prepared himself for this last run at becoming one of the greats. i Know b-hop will retire soon if not after this fight

B-HOp is one of the most brilliant technicians out there...he may not win on punch volume or punches landed...but it's very possible he finds a way to win.

I see Pascal getting the slim nod in a boring UD but this is no play for me.
