      that main card looks awesome

even paul b and kongo should be a stand up fight. kongos fights usually suck when they put him up against a wrestler.

This card is so stacked for a free event. It crushes the ufc 109 pay-per-view.

Hopefully the main fights go fast because I want to see Guida, Fisher and Pierce from the undercard.

Just a quick note: Dream 13 in Tokyo is rumored to occur on 3/22, so there may be an opportunity for some UFC on Versus and Dream 13 parlays just in case that sparks anyone's interest...

No Dream 13 card announced, but rumored to include Hellboy vs Bibiano for the featherweight title.

guida seems far to willing to stand and trade in most of his fights. when was the last time you were disinterested during a guida fight? only reason i ask is usually when people say human blanket, they are referring to when a fighter just wrestlers and takes no risks resulting in a "boring" fight.

Any chance Guida gets subbed in this one? Gugerty has decent jits, but if Nate Diaz couldn't get him, I don't see Gugerty fairing any better.

If by human blanket you mean tough as nails fighter who has one of the best chins in mma and is willing to stand and trade blows or go to the mat and push the fight with fast paced ground and pound, then yeah that's guida.
If by human blanket you mean guy who lays on top of people and tries to kill time, then you aren't talking about Clay Guida.

A welterweight grudge match between Anthony Johnson (8-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) and John Howard (13-4 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has been put on indefinite hold as "Rumble" was forced to bow out of the contest due to a knee injury.

The pair was scheduled to meet on the main card of "UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones," which takes place March 21 in Broomfield, Colo.

"Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Champion newcomer Daniel Robers has signed a four-fight deal with the organization and replaces an injured Anthony Johnson at next month's on UFC on Versus 1 event."

sucks, i had a good price on johnson. here come the injuries again.

                                  do not know Robers

card lacks name and drawing power but the talent on this card is almost as good maybe even better than 110 imo
i see most of the favs on the main card getting a win. buentello/kongo matchup is a toss up for me at the moment, but buentello has some serious value at anything above +150

After losing his initial opponent due to an injury, John Howard has gone from a main-card bout with fellow contender Anthony Johnson to an un-aired preliminary-card fight with UFC newcomer Daniel Roberts at UFC on Versus 1.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the bout last week, and UFC officials have since made the welterweight matchup official.

With the fight moved to the March 21 event's preliminary card, only three fights are set for the Versus-televised main card. A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com a newly booked fight likely will take the vacant spot on the televised portion of the show.

I really don't get why everyone is assuming this... Very's a skilled muay thai practicioner. I doubt he's gonna walk into one of Jones' spinning elbows.

(For the record, I do see Jones a fav, but just not as heavy a fav as most seem to)

According to The Wrestling Observer, a back injury has forced Spencer Fisher to withdraw from the UFC's upcoming debut on the Versus network.

And in an additional report from MMAWeekly.com, Fisher's original opponent, Duane "Bang" Ludwig (19-10 MMA, 2-1 UFC) will now face UFC newcomer Darren Elkins (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

I'm taking Vera right now at +225 at Bodog. This matchup is much closer than the +225 odds give it credit for. Vera easily could have gotten the decision in the Couture fight, and has the experience over the 22 year old Jones. Vera needs a win here bad, can't come out gun shy.

We were all saying the same thing when he fought Couture though. He just doesn't have that killer instinct. He tries to do just enough to win and never leaves it all in the cage. Also, he couldn't beat Jardine and his odd striking. I think he'll have just as many problems against Jones and his unorthodox spinning elbows. Plus Jones does have that killer instinct. He gets in the cage and wants to F someone up.

by no means is this a lock, but for +225 i'm in. i think Vera is the more technical striker and will do better against that unorthodox style Jones has. I see the fight being a striking battle where Vera will be able to land and not get mauled like in the Couture fight
