Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm still planning on betting on Rothwell, and depending on how he looks at the weigh-ins, I'll put a bit more on him. Haven't made up my mind about how much to wager, but it'll probably be in the vicinity of $100-$200. Rothwell's odds have been steadily increasing over the past week from +235 to +255 (I use 5Dimes as a reference for the MMA lines)

For some reason, Rampage wasn't prepared for all the leg kicks Jardine threw his way. If he couldn't defend those leg kicks, he should've had a back-up plan to avoid the damage that his legs took (take down, ground game, clinch). After all, Rampage saw how Jardine utilized leg kicks to defeat Liddell.

Yeah, but Rampage has some of the deadliest hands in the lightweight division and Jardine's chin...well...you know the rest. Also, that was response to saying it won't go 3. I think it has a better chance at going 3 than ending early.

                          UFC 104 Results: 1-2 -4.30 units

Disappointed in Okami. He did nothing substantial in that fight whatsoever. But, that's gambling: sometimes athletes show-up, sometimes they don't. Pat Barry fought the way I thought he would, although the first round didn't quite go his way. Rothwell is a warrior and has a lot of heart; another bad stoppage by Mazzagatti.

I feel bad for fighters that lose due to early stoppages. They train hard for three months, away from their families, only to have a referee end the fight for the "safety of the fighter". When it comes to TKOs, I think almost every fighter would rather take a few more punches than have the ref step in and end the fight. In regards to Rothwell's early stoppage, I really don't think a fight should be stopped when the fighter is getting up and barely dazed. I told you guys Rothwell can take a lot of punches; maybe I should've told Mazzagatti too.

                            UFC 105
Ahh, finally something to write about! I've got two picks that I'm feeling good about. After talking to a buddy of mine, we both agree that we have two winners on hand.

                            Vera -105 over Couture
In my eyes, I see Vera doing everything he can to keep this fight standing. He'll begin by picking Couture apart with huge leg kicks, which will eventually help him secure a TKO win. Couture's chin is suspect, and even though he's been working on his boxing, I think Vera will be able to land a punch that will leave Couture weak in the knees. Also, Couture and Vera trained with the same Olympic Greco wresting team

                            Kang -125 over Bisping

This is where you take the stronger, faster, better wrestler, and more talented fighter in Denis Kang. Besides, I'm not a Bisping fan whatsoever, so I'll gladly bet against him. I think Bisping will try his luck by avoiding Kang's ground game at all costs. Kang has only been knocked out twice in his career, with only one KO loss in the past 8 years. Kang has fought much tougher competitors and I think his experience will add another W to his record. If we're lucky, we'll get to see Bisping get knocked the F out again.

Waiting til the day of the fight to place my bets since my book doesn't allow betting any earlier.
                            Vera $210 to win $200
                            Kang $250 to win $200

Might parlay them for $100 to win $250

DON'T FORGET THAT THE EVENT IS HELD OVERSEAS, SO GET YOUR BETS IN EARLY!!

                                Post-fight thoughts:
I've learned to avoid betting on fighters that lack a killer instinct. Fighters that don't have the natural ability to finish fights are not to be trusted ever again. I was utterly disappointed with Denis Kang, who landed a clean right punch to knockdown Bisping. With a little more aggression, Kang would've easily finished that fight. But for some unexplainable reason, Kang thought it'd be best to fall on top of Bisping with a warming hug.

As if that wasn't a bad enough fight, my friends and I sat in disbelief as we saw a 46-year old man pin Brandon Vera against the cage for 75% of the fight. Was the referree blind? Did he think something was gonna happen? Who knows. Did the judges have eyes? Did they score the fight based on a hugging contest? Who knows. To sum it up, I'm disappointed in Vera for his lack of effort to get out of the boring clinch. After the first round, he had to have known that something was wrong with Randy. Randy did practically no damage throughout the fight, other than a few exchanges that left Vera smiling. My only conclusion is that Vera felt cold during the fight and enjoyed the warmth of another man against his body.

                                  UFC 106
This event is actually shaping up to be a good one. Originally, I wasn't looking forward to an event that featured no title fights. But, the UFC has done some good anyway. With the way UFC 105s main card went, UFC 106 looks like it has all of the makings to outshine last weeks event. (I know the UFC 105 undercard was real good, but its the main card that we pay to watch).

                                  Johnson -110 over Koscheck

My reasons for taking Johnson is that I think his sheer size will be a big advantage in this fight. In his last fight, Johnson entered camp weighing 220lbs, failing to make weight for his welterweight fight against Yoshida. Instead, Johnson weighed in at 176lbs, and come fight time, I'm sure he weighed somewhere in the neighbourhood of 195. In my eyes, the problems Koscheck had when facing Thiago Alves will be similar to those he'll face against Johnson.
Johnson is an athletic, explosive striker with crazy KO power. I do think Koscheck's striking is better than Johnson's, but I'm rolling with Johnson for this event. Can't wait to see this fight.

Luiz Cane +140 over Rogerio Nogueria
I've said it before, I think Cane is a dangerous fighter. His striking reminds me of Anderson Silva: tactical, well-thought out, and crisp. This is Rogerio Nog's first fight in the UFC, and I'm hoping that the unfamiliarity of the octagon gets to him. Nogueira is a submission wizard which raises some concern. Letting my money ride on Cane as a betting underdog.

Other fighters I'll consider betting on:
Hazelett -115 against Mr.Decision aka Karo Parisyan
Ben Saunders +190 against Marcus Davis

Was out of town and yet to watch the fights. With big plays on Vera, Kang, Swick and Riddle, I may never watch these fights.

Paul Daley - wow...TKO'd Kampmann! A bit of an early stoppage, but no doubt he deserved that win. 17 of his 22 wins are via (T)KO. You can bet that he's caught the attention of the bookies and we probably will never see him as a +300 dog again.

Jake Ellenberger - Trust me, this guy is a big, strong welterweight. I don't know how Carlos Condit managed to weather out all of those vicious punches to the face. Condit is no slouch on the ground, and I'm surprised Ellenberger was able to avoid being submitted. I see Ellenberger as legitamate betting material.

                                      Cole Miller
                                      - Even though he lost tonight, he's still a warrior in my book. He's a fighter with potential, and I'll be looking forward to betting on him again.
Daley, Ellenberger, and Miller all pull through with victories! Sorry, haven't been posting here for a while.
