#352Originally posted by AllureYeah you tough guy of course you would have continued to fight instead of just winning by DQ.
Apparently you lost money so I understand. It's all good.
Edit: And yeah of course he made it Look much worse. Who wouldn't, he knew he was losing big time.
True got to take the money over everything. when you know you were going to lose might as well not continue fighting. Smart by sterling.Comment -

#356One judge had him winning. So I wouldn't be too sure. Of course Yan was in control after round 2 but who knows with these UFC judges. It's the closest fight that Yan has had in his UFC career.Originally posted by DemonataIt was not close! yan stuffed like 16 takedowns and took him down a ton. Also was pulling away easily. Conserved his energy first couple rounds. No was was sterling going to win that.Comment -

lmfao i seriously doubt by the time the fight was over two judges had sterling winning. Sterling was not going to make a miracle comeback and eat spinach like popeye and get his energy back.Well its easy to say its the closest fight since it was never even finished...Comment -

#368I disagree, I'm sorry. Let's say if Sterling was on top of Yan all 4 rounds, and Yan lands a horrible illegal knee to the head, would you think the same? That a rematch should decide the winner? Correct decision imo to give Sterling the strap. Yan needs to be ultra knowledgeable of the rules and not rely on his coaches.Originally posted by Hugo de NaranjaShould been a No Contest or Technical Decision with points taken from Yan imo but that is not what the ruleset says.Comment -

#371True man that's how i felt, i knew he would stuff most of the takedowns and his striking is on point. In a five round fight i expected sterling to fade in the later rounds. #377But it's not just about the cards, it's about the momentum in the fight. Sterling was gassed and couldn't get takedowns. He needed a KO standing or the first DQ in UFC title fight history.Originally posted by unitedladOne judge had him winning. So I wouldn't be too sure. #380If it were a Technical Decision no, Sterling would win since under this scenario he was winning the rounds. My ideal scenario would be if the fouling fighter is winning, No Contest. If the fouling fighter is losing, Technical Decision.Originally posted by unitedladI disagree, I'm sorry. #383At the end of the day, it's on Yan to know the basic fuckingg rules of the sport. A mistake like that in a title fight is just so bad.Originally posted by unitedladI disagree, I'm sorry. #384I understand that. But not giving Sterling the title there due to a illegal strike would be changing the rules on the fly.
