I think Kyle Stewart thought Eric Koch would gas out first in the clinch via size disadvantage.

Koch had better grappling, wrestling and clinch technique and did a better job resting, relaxing and conserving his energy which gave him the edge.

In terms of physics the smaller, lighter, guy might exert more energy wrestling with a larger body in the way that a volkswagon would be at a disadvantage in a tug of war with a garbage truck.

Not 100% certain on the consensus for that but it is the type of question that makes MMA interesting to me.
