But the ironic thing is that Jones would make far more $$$$ in a rematch fight if he was knocked out by an opponent. So he’s really costing himself $$$$ by point fighting and taking no risk. If he fights more aggressive and gets knock outs, his buy rate for future fights go up. If he gets knocked out, he still would make more $$$ in a rematch than had he retained and found a new guy to fight.

I can understand guy like Floyd Mayweathee fighting cautiously bc at this point 50-0 is with more to protect.

But nobody cares about Jon Jones record or if he takes a loss along the way. It just sets up a rematch fight to be a mega fight
