A lot of fighters have press conferences on cards they aren't fighting on.

A lot of them do Q & A's and things like that.

Its been a standard practice for years.

It doesn't mean the UFC pushes them, it just means the UFC fighters with the most twitter followers and the most public exposure/fan favorites are selected for those types of public events.

Right on man, I get that opinions vary. Just mentioning that it could be a good possibility, and therefor something to consider when dropping coin on the fights. IMO thought the crux of it was if the UFC does/does not show favor to marketable fighters in close fights, not if they did/didn't push fighters. Would be crazy for them not to if they recognize marketability potential from up and comers.

Considered betting Moicano (-130) live but it dropped to (-150) before I could. Round 1 was a clear 10-9 Moicano.

He is known as a grappler but actually has very good volume striking. He is always throwing combinations rather than single shots. I was impressed with both of his UFC fights so far but didn't see much from the regional scene.

Yeah, but BJJ is one thing and doesn't necessarily mean he will have good offensive takedown ability. I had just wanted to see some from him before assuming it was there.
