Coming out of Tristar you would think Allen would have some idea of the importance of controlling position. He gave up position so many times going for low percentage subs that he wasn't even in deep on. If the ref didn't stand up so quickly or if Amirkhani had better cardio, Allen would be kicking himself.

Amirkhani gave up top position more than Allen did going for subs.

I guess Allen thought he should do the same.

Manuwa stands flat footed & doesn't move much.

That makes me think he'll be vulnerable to Corey's takedowns like he was when he fought Anthony Johnson.

But we'll see.

Agreed. That's what put me on Anderson in the first place. But to be honest, I forgot to account for this being a 5 round fight. I think that massively favors Manuwa because he's the one with the finishing ability. Manuwa is really good at conserving his energy when he gets taken down and not forcing things to the point he gasses his arms out. His power will stay with him, and what will Anderson do later in the fight when he starts to slow down? His arms get heavy, his takedowns get slow. Then he will just be fighting to stay alive as Manuwa stalks his prey. That's a dangerous spot to be in.

IMO Corey's cardio is better than Manuwa's so a 5 round fight could give him an advantage.

If Manuwa ends up on the bottom, he's the one who will have to expend more energy getting back to his feet.

Manuwa has that scary power though if he lands clean.
