Okay, your personal opinion should influence how much Nate Diaz is paid. And of course I didn't give an answer, that's a stupid question. I'm not going to go through reported UFC salaries and a backlog of ratings to try to estimate a figure that Nate Diaz might be worth. There are far too many variables for me to give an exact figure.

Diaz would have walked away with $20,000 IF he bothered to take his job seriously and try and make weight.

Let's keep that in mind.

So not only should your personal feelings matter as far as Nate Diaz gets paid, but how he performs after he signs his contract should influence his pay? How should the UFC enforce that? Use their Zuffa time machine to penalize guys who have a shitty fight?

If Nate Diaz would have trained, made weight, and beat RDA, he would have made $40,000 and no one would be complaining about how much he made.

Hell he only won 30K when he beat Maynard in his last fight before that in 2013.

20% of his purse was awarded to Dos Anjos due to Diaz missing weight.

Then, Diaz was fined $10,000 for hassling Dos Anjos after weigh ins or for something else that was never specified.

If you factor in taxes, travel arrangements, having to pay his coaches and staff, fees for medical tests leading up to the fight. Diaz took a 3 round beating from Dos Anjos pretty much for free. His expenses were more than the salary he was paid for the fight.

IMO he is lucky that the UFC even gave him another shot after running his mouth for so long and complaining. Then he comes back and doesn't make weight and puts on one of the worst performances of his career.

He would have gotten paid more if he would have trained, made weight, showed up to fight and won. Not to mention it would have gave him a boost going into his next fight. He is almost damaged goods at this point.

We did not want to waste valuable advertising dollars and creative team salaries on a fighter who is 36 and whose job is to job on Sunday. We wanted to get the best ROI by focusing on McGregor who will generate millions for us in PPV sales in Ireland and Ticket Sales.

Diaz draw power took a hit after that fight but to think the guy doesn't draw is almost as silly as him making 20 thou a fight. There is a reason Dana and Fertitas won't let him out of his contract and that is because they know like their workers in Las Vegas they got a scab deal.
