First off these troops are delusional if they think they are fighting for me and you. They are fighting for a few greedy war hawk fuks in our political system who game the system for thier buddies in the military complex. We used to get a lot of US soldiers through Shannon airport back when I travelled more often, and I've had conversations with many of them. For the most part, they seemed really down to earth and honest, and just happy to be there. Very friendly and approachable. I'd say that one in five of them was the perfect example of what foreigners hate in Americans; they seemed to think that they were superior to us, and that by coming to our country to use our services, they were doing us a favour. Very big-headed and arrogant people who legitimately thought that their country was the greatest and that they were in some sort of inferior land where people had to bow down to them. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I'm glad I got the chance to speak to them, because it was refreshing to see that the majority (of a small sample size) were humble, friendly and honest people.
