#110Originally posted by DSSCAWhy is nobody talking about the UFC debut of James Krause? I mean c'mon his nick name is "The James Krause"! Krause coming off a jab-fest destruction of Toby Imada in January and with 8 submissions to his credit. I think he brings a definite threat. His range may prove tough for Stout if he keeps that jab in his face all night. Stout might be the more experienced and stronger fighter, which he could use to his advantage by backing Krause up and bullying him against the cage, but I think there is legitimate value in a +456 ITD for Krause and a +210 just to win. I'll be playing both. Anyone care to share thoughts on this? I did hedge with Stout in a large parlay just in caseComment -

#114Krause is good, but I had it 'capped around -240 for Stout; thus, no play. If Krause wins this, it's going to be by decision. Stout is aggressive enough to give Krause fits, and I doubt he's going to just sit at the end of Krause's jab for three rounds. In addition, Krause has questionable fight IQ, and I haven't seen anything to make me think that Stout can't take him down.Comment -

DSSCA was kind enough to invite me. I need to donate or contact an administrator to invite someone else. I'm not sure I want to contact an administrator right now since my first attempt at registration worked but then I couldn't login and I think I may have 2 accounts at the moment. I sent them a PM about that but they haven't answered.
There's a separate thread where people were talking about where to get footage. If you want to get invited you could ask one of those people.Comment -

#130Originally posted by Vaughanyyeah like her a lot as a person! I was at university with her when she was doing her osteopathy course in Oxford, I interviewed her for a thing I was doing for a module on women in sport as well. But I just dont think she is going to win a fight with Alexis Davis! She is under-sized, was pretty much retired a few months ago and she admitted in her blog (in a round-about way) that she is taking this fight for the money (and obviously the slight chance that she pulls off the upset).Comment -

And he's actually quite a bit bigger, though he did look a little drawn out. Seemed he lost some muscle which might be a good thing when going to 170Comment -

#134I am betting on Jake Shields and Pat Barry. Jake Shields has far more experience than Woodley, better submissions and probably better striking. I think he should be the favorite. Pat Barry has much better striking than Jordan and his takedown defense and ground game have improved a lot, as you can see in his last fight against del Rosario.Comment -

#135Wanna be cro cop by decision +320
little rugged mexican itd +340 (or wins in round 1 at +625, but then again delorme is one tough sob).
awkward shields decision +361
kraus decision +400
These guys are all live dogs imo (some are legit with value in str8 up moneyline plays), and think there is serious value in these props.
Hoping jordan gets further into +odds as well for a str8 play, def like him over barry especially after seeing the post from the dude above... HD already seems a little mentally weird (especially ever since that strange mirko fight and other shit he's said - 'let's be friends while we fight'), and from that interview he seems to have already taken this fight as a 'no go'...
Sitting on pierson as well for a str8 play I have been itching to take him.
Why some of you guys like robertson, especially since he's on short notice in pierson home turf?Comment -

#137Originally posted by DSSCAReally? Jake Shields doesn't have better striking than a match stick. He went to Thailand a little while back and trained at Tiger MuayThai... That's probably the worst gym you could train at... I remember video of him working on an inside leg kick while an opponent charges. Dude is BASIC! World class grappler, but a better striker, I say not.
Woodley perhaps holds the power advantage and just explosiveness. Which can be enough to win in a terrible striking battle. And it may here. But as far as almost all other aspects of striking Shields is better. Perhaps Wood is on the roids. Perhaps he has turned the corner and found his game. But 1 KO over Jay Heiron isn't and can't erase the multiple snooze fests laying on anyone with ok striking. Woodley is Phil Davis esque. Wrestler who would love to be that black striker. But absolutely has little experience and feel for striking. Woodley has been an ordinary lay and prayer for 95% of his career.Comment -

#139The thing that sways it in Woodley's favor is potential power. If they strike, Woodley will be swinging more from the hip, and he has that black man and wrestler acceleration in movements. Shields has no power and doesn't ever care to swing with power even if he is way down. If anyone is getting rocked it is most likely Shields.
In a battle of crappy strikers, power/chin often come into play a bunch. Shields does have a solid chin though.
We are talking striking and this will probably end up being a clinch, grind for TD fight anyway.Comment -
