did you watch him pursue the td against jimmo? he was strong and persistant...maybe doesnt look like a traditional wrestler but he is effective
he's pretty good at muscling against the cage

Mendes at anything less than -300 was free money. A shame indeed.

That was going to be a sizable play for me, and knowing how the fans love Guida, it was entirely possible the line would be under -300.

Well who has Gustaf faced that really would? The Janitor was Ko'd in about a minute. Hamill is a joke. People got all getty that a roided up Thiago grappled Vera...but it isn't like he really is some TD artist.

Te Huna may not be a bad wrestler. But I have nothing to think he is a good wrestler. Tex should be better in all areas in my opinion.

you pretty much listed it... those 3 guys would have all had it in their best interest to put gus on his back, and all 3 of those guys come from strong grappling background, yet none of them were able to even come close

So how did te huna do it? he was freaking strong...he bulled gus around in the clinch and then hit a lateral drop like maia vs sonnen
technique-wise, tex may have him beat in all areas, maybe even the wrestling. but getting someone on their back is not all about wrestling technique, it can include persistence, strength, resilience

thing here for me is... tehuna is younger, stronger, argueably faster/more explosive, and he keeps fkn coming like he did against jimmo even after getting smashed in the first round

if tehuna comes in to this fight looking to alternate between quick flurries and aggressive tie-ups against the cage, i suspect it will be tex that shows the first signs of wear

The 30-year-old Hardy was slated to face Matt Brown at HP Pavilion in San Jose. He has been replaced by Jordan Mein.

In his most recent outing on September 29, Hardy defeated Amir Sadollah by unanimous decision.

Instantly the MMA community’s went into overdrive speculating about what was going down, is he injured? Will he ever fight again?

We spoke to Wad Alameddine who is Dan Hardy`s friend and manager to find out the ins and outs of this situation and to try to find out how this will affect the Outlaws career.

                                                                      This is Mr Alameddine`s statement:

There’s been a lot of speculation online in the last 24 hours or so regarding Mr Hardy being forced out of his fight with Matt Brown next month, so I wanted to clarify the situation and provide some details.

On Tuesday this week Dan went and had his medicals done as per normal, however because the fight is in California there was an EKG performed as well as the usual standard medicals done in every other states (normally; blood work, physical, MRI, etc).

On Wednesday his EKG results came back showing an irregularity which has been diagnosed as Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, which incidentally my wife also suffers from. However unlike my wife who has symptoms of the syndrome (including heart palpitations and tachycardia), Dan has never shown any symptoms of the syndrome and therefore it has come as a surprise to us all as this is something you are born with, rather than develop.

Since this news, Dan has been back to hospital and had several tests run on him with a cardiologist, which included an Ultrasound as well as a high-level stress test to study his heart and how it responds to exercise. To say Dan has a very strong and healthy heart would be an understatement! The tests he did not only showed he has a phenomenal resting heart rate of 42bpm, but he also broke the record for the stress test he did which was held by a marathon runner for over a year.

Sadly the commission will not clear him for the fight with Brown so the UFC were forced to draft in Jordan Mein as a replacement for Dan. It’s a great shame that the athletic commission simply take a reading from an EKG and decide whether he can or cannot fight, rather than looking at the evidence of the last 30 years of Dan’s life without a single symptom of the syndrome, the 10 year sports career he’s had, and the tests he’s also performed this week.......amongst other things.

As you can imagine with everything (we felt) stacked in our favour, the “not cleared to fight” message we received was a very big shock, particularly after 10 years of competition and no issues. Anyway right now we’re talking to the UFC about what’s next and we’ll keep everyone updated as and when we have further information.

                                                                      Wad Alameddine @ Fight Management

We at Addicted would like to thank Mr Alameddine for taking the time to respond to Dan Hardys fans. And we send our best wishes to The Outlaw and hope all of this can be cleared up and he can climb back into the cage sooner rather than later.
