as for the "three stooges", you're right...Schemp was a solid stooge-standin for Larry...but anything without Moe (smack..."get outa here") and Curly ("i was a victim of soy-kum-stance") just don't satisfy the true connoisseur of this acquired-taste/pliers-to-the-nose genre of comedy...

Fit, one of my favorite moves was the vertical hand to
the bridge of the nose, that blocked most of Moe's
eye gouges. Curly was the master of that maneuver.

it was one thing to take time off from bases, which i've certainly missed. but to miss a good Stooges conversation, well, that's just sad. the fathers of comedy, no one had done it better and no one ever will. watching Stooges with my kids first thing in the morning is one of the great pleasures in life. used to do that with my dad back in the day.

a favorite moment of mine - there was a kid doing his homework as Curly is standing next to him:
kid: "Hey, mister - what's 6 and 6?"
Curly: "Boxcars?"

the physical antics were amazing (i too love Curly blocking the eye poke with his hand), but there are also some real gems in the dialogue too. some other gems:

we're not normal people, we're morons.
i'm tryin' to think but nothin' happens.
why don't you get a toupee with some brains in it?

i could go on all night. well, now i know what i'm going to watch after Cocky/Vandy as i work on my CFB card.
