          20* UNDER REDS-Rockies - 10 -110

The Reds will send Johnny Cueto to the hill and he looks to continue his very impressive season performance. He ranks fourth in the NL with 12 wins, eighth with 133 ⅓ innings pitched, best with a 2.23 ERA, and second with two complete games.

He has tremendous command of three elite pitches beginning with his fastball that he throws 73% of the time for the first pitch of an at-bat and one that hitters are batting just .259 when seeing that fastball. He then has a tremendous changeup where batters are hitting just .197 and follows that up with a slider where batters are hitting just .218.

Since he is a right-handed pitcher, he will feature the devastating change as his out pitch to right-handed batters. he throws that pitch 17% of the time to right-handed batters and just 3% to left-handed batters. So, he uses three pitches against left-handed batters and features the fastball and slider to right-handed batters.

Moreover, he has been even more dominating over his last three starts sporting a 1.45 ERA with a 1.393 WHIP, allowing zero home runs, and striking out 17 batters spanning 18 ⅔ innings of work. I strongly believe he will dominate the Rockies lineup that is batting just .226 over their last seven games.

Christian Friedrich will start for the Rockies and he is on a massive MLB learning curve that has seen him improve significantly over his recent starts. He has a strong fastball with significant movement that ranges between 86 and 95 MPH. The left-hander will then feature a slider to left-handed batters than he an thrown between 80 and 88 MPH. For right-handed hitters he can add a back-door curveball that he can throw at an average of 76 MPH. He has been able to get first pitch strikes more often in his recent starts and that will serve him well against the Reds.

I have a 5* Titan on TEXAS outlined on the site... I don't like laying the -200 I am seeing at shops now. I would stay away from this play...

            I do like a 5* play UNDER 9 +105 Boston/NYY

            5* Tampa Bay + 155

Nothing like a plus 155 dog throwing a 3-0 shutout to take some of the pain out of a 20* loser... I think I was painfully clear to stay away from the Texas game.. of course in hindsight, that looked like a brilliant idea.. However, I also did not say to play the CWS.. just that paying better than -190 was not to my liking..

For Sunday, I am looking at playing a three team round robin with three impressive dogs.

5* play on Tampa Bay +170
5* play on Kansas City +182
                      5* play on Colorado +151
and then THREE 3* parlays using these three teams.

I also like Boston tonight as a 10* dog at +150.

                        Felix Doubront
He is a diminutive starting pitcher at 6-2 and just 165 pounds, but uses tremendous flexibility to generate powerful rotation and late-breaking movement on his pitches. He has a very good fastball that he range between 90 and 96 MPH. two-seam fastball always have greater pitch movement and are the lower than straight four-seam gripped fastball. His two-seamer rides in late and hard on left-handed batters, which generates weekly hit balls off the handle of the bat.

The same works for him when facing right-handed batters, where he can use the two-seem as a backdoor fastball and ‘out’ pitch. This pitch will start down the middle and once the batter commits to swinging at it is when the tailing movement of the pitch occurs. In these situations, right-handed batters will hit ‘nubbers’ off the end of their bats for easy outs.

His fastball is so good that he starts off 89% of at-bats with this pitch. he uses a very good curveball 15% of pitches thrown to left-handed batters. Hitters are batting just .217 on that pitch. So, you can see that he has the tools and pitches to be able to dominate any team in MLB.

Hey John. If you have some extra time I think you would enjoy taking a look at a thread I just decided to start in the College football section. I work very hard throughout the summer too get accurate power rankings for each individual for all 120 college football teams and thanks to this thread and a few others I have become a little more comfortable with sharing my thoughts, opinions and strategies at attacking the markets.
I use a old school approach to capping games, teams, etc and I would like some feedback from anyone who has some experience in doing so.
Thank you again. The contest was fun, I am at 60% and will probably play 1 game a day for the remainder. My offer still stands for the college football season. 1000 points 120 games ATS or totals all plays must be posted by WED. of the weeks card. Hope to hear from you.
                                Thanks, MILK

                                  5* Ny Mets +170

                                  5* Baltimore +163

and again, since I have three 5* Dogs of +140 or higher, play a three-team round robin for 3* each.

well, you picked the right winner. the only winner with the exception of the 10* on Boston.

Rays are a team that is much better than people think. Just that they are in the most competitive division in baseball.

I have heard that Pence of the Phillies might go for TWO HIGHLY regarded prospects from the Giants.. Seems like a stretch... but it is making media headlines.

Also hearing that Cliff Lee will be traded to Texas for two amazing prospects in Olt and Martin Perez. I would do that trade ina heart beat if I was Ruben Omaro, Jr.

If Amaro pulls of the trade I just heard from a reliable scouting friend of mine he shoudl be enshrined in Cooperstown now. Upton and top prospect Bauer for Cliff Lee. Phillies would eat 30 million of the 87 still owed.

Because this guy is a homer. He blindly bets Philly consistently. Most of the time they lose. The 3* dog round robin plays are also sucker bets. It's extremely difficult to hit 3 +140 dogs in one day. As you can see, he is 3-25 on them and down another 12 units. This play will not hit enough to be long term profitable.

Well, It is in hindsight, but I did post an article on the site that explains why I liked the Phillies tonight and why I like them for the next tow games as well.

The season has been a downer, but as you can tell when I do get three dogs lined up, the record is irrelevant.what matters is units won and these 3* parlays can hit over 50 units when all three hit and the record does not matter. I have been doig this for 18 seasons and please take my word for it.. That when I post plays they are ones that I completely in.
