Overs are easier to spot then Unders..(in Baseball)

We need more cheerleaders in baseball!

Of course, every handicapper has a different way/style. Feel free to agree or disagree. This statement is not a universal truth, just my opinion..

In other sports, (football, basketball) majority of my Total bets are "Under" bets but in baseball, "Over" bets are easier to spot/win then Under bets in my opinion. Let me tell you why..

Let's say an average total in a basketball game (NBA) is 190 or 200. How many times you see a game where 400+ points (x2 of the total) scored? Forget about 400, how many times you saw a game where both sides scored 300 (x1.5 of the total) points? One? Two?

In hockey, average total is 5½. How many games you see 11-12 goals? Very rare..

In baseball, winning range for OVER is wide! The sky limit for Over is very high. They can even score 6 runs (or more) in a single inning. If total is 8½, you can see a final score like 8-4, 9-6.

Second, there's no clock in baseball! Let's assume that your bet (NBA) is Over 200 and 130 points scored in first 3 quarters. If game didn't go to OT, your chance to win is very slim since they have only 12 minutes to score..

In hockey, how many goals they can score in 2 minutes?

In baseball, your hope for "Over" is always alive. they can score 7 runs in last inning. A grand slam is equal to 4 Runs! This is almost half of the total!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Do you miss football?

I agree for the most part SAWYER, though the over in the STL/SEA game last night looked like the easiest play in the world and didn't even come close.

Yeah, sometimes it happens. You know, you can't win all the time. I remember an Over bet that I lost where +20 men left on base! It was crazy!

I don't have big expectations when placing a Total bet. You know, everything can happen. That's why I'm betting flat. +100 If I can win 12 of 20, (12 Win, 8 Lost) I feel happy. It makes you money even with -120 juice..

God Bless Matchbook, I don't pay -120 juice often

You can pick -110 line at +105 if you have Matchbook.

Matchbook is a must for baseball betting.. Bookmaker's ML odds are very poor but I love them for Total bets since they move lines a little bit slower then other books.

Yep -- over killers for sure. It's not that teams don't have their chances like you predict, but sometimes, guys get stranded in scoring position every inning and there's nothing you can do but watch your bet die a slow, painful death.

For how things are done on this end, the one's that are posted, selecting the winner/loser is easier but whatever works for each punter is all gravy. Let's cash a few tonight gents!

Yeah I typically only play overs in baseball. Bullpens fukk up the under way to damn much. To each there own though.

Unders get hard, because I think its hard to appreciate just how little room for error there is for a pitcher.
Even the best pitcher can be off just slightly, or not quite have the feel for a pitch, and it can kill the whole under by giving up runs or getting the the 'pen earlier. It seems to happen that a great pitcher falls to average more often than a bad pitcher pitches a gem.
