Oh boy, SF beat Roy & Cole beat Linecum. Both teams split 3-3 this year...The BIG difference is the Phillies are made for the postseason, they get bored during the long season. They make dominating the NL for 3 years look easy.


If you want to back up SF for the series, just say the word. You can have all my points, or if you want to cut the kiddie bullshit I'll back the Phils up to say...10K? LB has no play yet, I'm thinking Rangers and Rangers TT over. personally I don't think this game deserves more than 2 units.

pauulz i follow alot of your posts and absolutely notice and respect your capping abilities, however i gotta disagree with you on this one.

Halladay gave up testing free agency, where he easily would have landed the most lucrative contract for a pitcher in history, in order to become a part of a postseason force like the Phillies. no way he takes a shit on the mound like he did in that 5-1 loss to Sanchez. it sounds silly, but there are definitely certain intangibles that must be taken into consideration ESPECIALLY in the playoffs, so i have to think that the Phillies have that sense of urgency to get the job done in the upcoming round. im sure theyre aware of their piss poor batting average against the Reds, and im sure Oswalt is aware that he cant allow 4 runs and expect to win consistently. Also, the Giants couldn't score more than 1-3 runs on average against the Braves who have a far inferior staff to the Phillies. How can they expect to score 4-5 against the Phils?

i think the Giants (and Reds for that matter) have really good baseball teams that should remain in contention for a while. they have very good pitching staffs, above average hitters, and good bullpen arms. however, just as the 07 Phillies were a young and inexperienced team that was swept out of the playoffs in the first round that year, the Reds and Giants compare to them in that sense.

im pretty sure we can expect to see the Reds and Giants competing in the playoff spots multiple times over the next few years. This year, the NL Pennant belongs to Philadelphia.

TD, actually I have. I don't really have the time to follow so many teams, so my logic was since I know this team the best stick with it. There were quite a few times over the summer where I took the other side and was successful, sometimes I got burned.

P20, I'm not sure yet on the unit amount. Of course, I don't think it's an unquestionable lock..nothing ever is...I'm a FVCKING homer, so yes, my views are tainted. I had Phils for series against Reds for $1K, Game 1 for $1K, Game 2 $500 & Game 3 $1K...It'll be no less than $1K & no more than $5k for this series.
