I lose, looks like chicago just brought up a new pitcher (coleman) for what its worth i like to take a wait and see approach on new pitchers since most hitters are not familiar with them they sometimes fare well.

      Good afternoon forum!!

I've been on SD the last two nights, and will definitely be on them tomorrow night (Latos vs Zambrano), but this is the one game in the series that has me worried. Too many people liking the Padres today. I'm thinking OVER 9.5 is the play, even though the 9.5 is not exactly the best total to play over. If I looked at the stats correctly, this kid Coleman only struck out 1 batter in his last 3 minor league appearances (16 IP). That plays right into the hands of the Pads contact offense. However, combine that with Richard's day game ERA of 5.10 (4.38 on the road), day game WHIP of 1.52 (1.60 on the road), and the Pads O/U record of 6-1 in his day game appearances, and I think we're gonna see some runs -- maybe just as many from the sCrUBS as the Padres.

Good luck to everyone on STL RL -- I just can't do it. Not after what I've seen recently. And the whole planet is on that side.

Liking the Cubbies at home today C Richard not as good away frome the friendly confines of Petco park. Cubies +130, and we know Pads don't score much.

ecavtly caps. I still think the pads will sweep, but if they lose one this will be it. They are not going to lose tomorrow with Latos on the mound.

The rays are one team that i cannot figure out. How do they hit so bad sometimes, getting no hit twice already and sometime hit like crazy. The top of their lineup is just about as good as it gets and they have some great young talent

i think the rays are similar to the braves because they find ways to win. and it can be a different guy every night. their pitching isnt as good as atl, but neither team has a guy in the lineup that absolutely scares you (heyward is getting there). maddon is obviously good at what he does as you can see by their continued success. they fight for almost every game and never give up.

Ya but the rays have much better hitting IMO. Look at the top of their lineup, its loaded. The braves can be shut down easily against good pitching, look at what the dodgers did to them this last series.

i'm agreeing with you that both teams can get shut down by good pitching as the no hitters vs. tampa has proven. but both teams have the right mix of pitching (bullpen included) and timely offense to overcome their occasional offensive struggles. and i think the braves won 2/3 against the dodgers as they seem to manage to do against everyone these last few months.

speaking of teams, i think philly is ready to hit a stretch run and become clearly the best team in baseball. the pitching is good enough for that offense and when all injuries are healed, they will be tough to beat. this should be the year they win it all.

Ya they did, but i know im making an excuse but the braves lit up the dodgers pin. They couldnt touch the starters...i know, i know its a 9 inning game. I would not want to face the braves at home though, they are a different animal. And yes, both TB and ATL have a good blend of pitching and hitting.
