#1264I want it to be known that I am very confident in the Astros tomorrow with Oswalt on the mound. The Astros had won 8 of 9 coming into this series.
Oswalt is 23-1 with a 2.58 ERA in his career against the Reds.
He will be going up against Arroyo who has struggled mightily this season with a 7.43 ERA on the season. In his last 3 outings (15 innings) he has given up 18 earned runs.Last edited by reverend; 04-28-10, 10:24 PM.Comment -

#1269Thursday April 29:
Series System:
C Bet: Houston (ML) 8.35 Units to Win 5.03 Units (2 Units Profit)
A Bet: Dodgers (ML) 4.8 Units to Win 2 Units
A Bet: Tampa Bay (ML) 4.8 Units to Win 2 Units
FAV System:
A Bet: Dodgers (-1 RL) 3.57 Units to Win 2 Units
*I have increased the Houston Series Bet to now win 2 Units for the Series
*Due to the heavy juice in the 2 Series System A Bets, possibly consider playing them on the -1 RL if you want to keep the juice downComment -

#1270If possible, I would consider getting in the Houston bet tonight, as I see this line rising tomorrow. You may be able to wait out the Dodgers and Rays to see if the line drops a bit.
Lets clean up these 3 series tomorrow.Comment -

Don't be so quick to give up on posting individual bets, Rev. The Cubs had men on 2nd and 3rd and bases loaded with just one out and couldn't push thsoe tying/winning runs across. Pimike was big on the Cubs today as well. Giants were one strike away from a win in the 9th when it all fell apart. Unless it's too much extra work for you, some of us would still like the benefit of your thinking on individual games. If you don't want it to be factored into this chase system, perhaps you could post it on a separate thread. And thanks again for all you're doing.Comment -

thanks for the encouragement. it has felt like the past 2 days have been almost laughable with the ways i have lost games. i will consider it. at minimum, i may post the games i like, but not really keep up with them. it is not completely because of the tough losses the last 2 days. i have felt like i have had too many plays posted, and i dont want to take emphasis away from the 3 systems that we have going in this thread. i really believe that if we stick with the plan, we will be up HUGE at the end of august. i dont want guys getting too focused on playing side games, when our bread and butter are going to be the 3 systems i got going in here. thoughts?Comment -

I've taken a couple more chases for tomorrow as well. A 3 game situational on the Cardinals, 4 game situational on the Yanks, and a series play on the cubs.Comment -

The only focus that concerns me is yours. And I say that in a sincerely positive and supportive way. You are truly "the man with the plan". And if concentrating just on the series plays, making sure that game C is just as strong as games A and B should we need to go that far, helps you make better decisions in that regard, then I say stick with just the 3 chase series and focus on those.
If, however, in the course of researching 3 and 4 game series you find one game match-ups you really love then I for one would love to have access to those as well. Again, my suggestion would be a separate thread "Rev's One Game Plays" or something along those lines. I believe people would access each thread with the mindset necessary for those types of games. If you're thinking it would steer the more fearful people away from the chase games and to the individual games, then so be it. Less stress on you for having to allay people's fears every time a C bet comes up. IMO, the chase system should be for those people who understand the kind of commitment it requires and are willing to make that commitment with you. So, yes, keep this thread "chase only". But again, maybe make your individual picks available on a separate thread.Last edited by dume walker; 04-29-10, 12:03 AM.Comment -

the more i look at the dodger/pit game tomorrow, the more i feel like there is no way pit can win this game. their bullpen is completely depleted, they played extra innings today and have to fly to the west coast, and they have a spot starter pitching who has brutal numbers. the dodgers are in a rough patch, but they still have one of the best team averages in the mlb, and i really think they step it up at home. kershaw has been a bit erratic, but he has "ace stuff".
anyway, im just rambling...

#1292I'd play Rev in that situation because even if his pick loses, you're still chasing it and you could win back what you lost in game 1. You could also play both. Then if PiMike get's it right and Rev loses, you win the first bet and then you chase the loss on Rev's system.
dont play both, your just giving away the juice if you do that... play neither or pick one.

I think the individual plays kind of take away from the point of the thread... If you're doing that, it's just another guy posting individual plays and breaking even hitting 55% (not that you necessarily wouldn't hit higher than that, but you get my point).Comment -

#1295Indeed Tampa Bay is. Have a look/see at the RunLine Payout. I'm seriously considering bumping up the OVER to 9 1/2.KC's Hochevar gives up way too many runs against Tier 1 Teams: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/players...;pageContainer . Tampa Bay score averages 6+ runs in the last 11 games against Tier 1 & 2 opponents. Adding fuel to this fire, the Royals HAVE NOT BEEN SHUTOUT this season avg loss scoring 3 runs.
