That was a good call with a shitty Cubs team. I'm leaning Twins for tonight I want to look at a few more things before I slam them!

I rock a lot of baseball hats.. what can i say..
yeah i saw that in Lids when i was home for winter break in the mall. i was like HOLY SHIT and locked one up, that all teal with black brim is best hat they ever had

if only they could get rid of these awful road unies and bring back the old Florida ones with the 2 marlins on either side. i saw majestic has liek retro jerseys coming back and had tampa bay but no marlins yet. once/if they release one im definitly buying a hanley classic one

                  No Marlins Plays
-I hope Volstad has his stuff together but after he busted us so many times with giving up homers at the worst possible times I need to see him get a start and see what St. Claire has done with his mechanics and such during this past spring. Plus he's not good at home usually, had like a 6.00+ERA last year and was like 4-6.

                  I do like tonight:

Chicago Cubs ML +125@ Bet Jamaica
Risk 1.00 units to win 1.25 units LOSS, unreal way to lose
-Silva wants to show the cubs that they were right to sign him, plus I think Homer Bailey is VERY overrated, no matter what anyone says.

hummmm what a way for the cubs to blow it....3-1 then that piece of junk caridad comes in walk, walk, mis play on bunt...then salami and 5-3...then in 9th we get ripped on an out at 1st then figures d lee goes yard next 5-4 then we get bags full and lou lets tracy hit and check swing bunt back to pitcher.....game was given to us and we blew it......

called that game to a T until uncle lou went retarded and took silve out in 7th, when coulda went till 8th then set up marmol w grabow or berg and avoid caridad totally......bad loss

the marlins blew it too tonight, left way too many men on base but volstad looked really good, was impressed, just needs run support.

Silva took himself out. Lou had no choice in that decision! Just a typical Cub loss they are not a good team!

Silva settled in on a chilly, 54-degree evening, preventing the Reds from rallying until he was out of the game. He left when his shoulder began to stiffen.

Florida Marlins ML -138 @ Bet Jamaica
Risk 1.380 units to win 1.000 unitsWINNER, LUCKY AS ****

Last night was a very tough loss, Chris Volstad had a gem going but didn’t get any run support though we did have several opportunities early but only were able to pick up 1. After running up a pitch count, Volstad ran into some trouble and left only to allow Clay Hensley to come in again and let the doors fly open for a second time already on this young season. Hopefully Hensley is on his way back to AAA and we seriously look at making some bullpen flips because I know it’s super early but still, this pen is AWFUL. With that onto tonight:

On Opening Day, Josh Johnson wasn't that bad but it wasn't what any Fish fan would consider to be a JJ performance and he agreed, he didn't have it all. The homer bug from the spring sprang up in the 1st but then got into a little groove and worked out of several tough situations, but didn’t get any run support to help his battle. He only went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs and the worst thing we saw was 4 walks thus his pitch count climbed up pretty high.

Since that start, he’s worked with pitching coach Randy St. Claire, and looked over the video from the game and some from last year and noticed that his mechanics in Monday’s Loss were a bit off from last year. With this problem identified, JJ and St. Claire easily corrected after a bullpen session and feels great about it and wants to get his first W of the year in front of the fans Saturday night. Last year JJ faced the Dodgers and picked up a 6-3 W, surrendering 5 hits, 3 earned runs to go along with 4 K’s in 7 innings strong, Leo Nunez picked up a save in this game too. Looking at the Dodgers lineup, Andre Eithier has the most success versus JJ, going 5/10, while the rest of the guys haven’t faced him or only have a handful of times but with not much success. Rather than giving JJ an extra day of rest, the chose to let him pitch on his regular 5 days rest and with his mechanics solved, good things should come.

Dodgers counter with the big man, Vicente Padilla, and he loves those Padilla Flotillas, had to get that in there lol. He’s the #1 but didn’t fair well on Opening Day versus the Pirates, where he got rolled early and at the end of the day his line in the box score wasn’t pretty. He logged 4 innings, 6 hits, 7 earned runs, 3 walks, 2 k’s, 2 dingers and 2 hit batsmen and together that gave him a big L and a 14.50 ERA. Like JJ there were talks of giving him on extra day but he wanted to stay consistent and took the ball. Not many of the Fish have faced him in the past so they’ll get their first chance tomorrow and at home, they would like to show up and swing the bats, hopefully better than they did last night.

Other plays that caught my eye include:

Minnesota Twins ML -123 @ Bet Jamaica
Risk 1.230 units to win 1.000 units WINNER
I’m a bit Scott Baker fan and though he got roughed up in his first start by the Angels, he was decent last year versus the White Sox, going 2-1 but had a high ERA in those games, so we’ll need some hitting.

New York Yankees ML and Seattle Mariners ML Parlay
Risk 1.000 units to win 1.920 units WINNER
Sabathia and King Felix get the nod and BOTH are under -150 on the ML, that’s worth a shot all day, especially try it now before they hit -300+ for the Yankees.

I Like the Cards too after that dramatic W last night but will not be pulling the trigger.

Also the knuckleballer charlie haegar gets the nod who i certainly think we can beat him and wait for that slow junk to get to the plate, but as we've all seen for years, this team lacks ANY PATIENCE when it comes to slower pitches, just look as us vs that geezer jamie moyers, he's liek 14-1 vs us all time.

If they had this prop bet though take it all day lol: cameron maybin total strikeouts OVER 2.5 lol he'll have 3 with ease, lacks any patience

Another positive is that Brian Sanches is throwing again and hopefully he'll be back within 7-10 days as we've seen in 5 games, this bullpen is UNPREDICTABLE.......

there is a game i do like though:

                                                                    Chicago Cubs ML +107
Risk 1.00 units to win 1.07 units LOSS

Tom Gorzelanny gets the nod as he beat Sean Marshall out for this spot as Ted Lilly continues rehab. He's 3-2 with a 6.00 ERA in his career vs the Reds but that was mianly with the Pirates. Last year he made his Cubs debut vs the Reds and picked up a 4-1 W, going 7 while giving up 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 6 and walking 1.

The Reds counter with Mr big thing, Mike Leake, who's making his MLB debut after skipping the minors and comign straight out of Arizona State where he went 16-1 with a 1.46 ERA last year. He's supposed to be the real deal and better then the Cuban Chapman and Wood after betaing them in the Spring where he went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in 6 spring games, including two starts. In that time he allowed 16 hits, 4 walks and had 10 k's in 18 innings.

For the most part, I'm on the Cubs simply because it's the Rookies MLB Debut and I expect him to be very excited and thus with that comes over throwing. With that his fastball will begin to tail up in the zone and walks will be plentiful if the Cubs show patience at the dish. Plus with the rookie if he gets into a jam, he may try to get fancy to get outta the inning because it worked in college and in the spring vs washed up vets and other rookies but vs the big dogs you cant get pretty cause it's gonna be in the bleachers.

                                                                    Leans: Texas Rangers ML -147
I LOVE my boy Scotty Feldman and the Rangers and rode him to atleadt 6 wins last year. At the moment I like this given that 82% are on the Mariners and Ian Snell. Given that amount I was hoping the line would be a bit lower but it has dropped a bit from it's opening -155 number. Hopefully this will continue to drop and closer to gametime it will be between -130 and -120.
