Time will tell but no team, at the major league level, will continue to not hit well for very long and their will be an explosion offensively sooner than latter from them.

This is similar to those that blindly chase a poor team wondering why they keep losing their roll; each person must know when to step off and/or climb aboard - it's a very thin line. Similar to when any starter has two back-to-back pitiful outings, not losses nor wins, I mean lack of control outings that have him get pulled before a third of the game is completed; they have plenty of room to improve the following outing. As always, enjoy what you bring to our thread - like nearly everyone else.

Thank you Panekkkk. All it takes is practice refining your skills to the point where you can look at the starters and, if needed, safely state I like team abc today/tonight without the use of formulas/spreadsheets/etc. Something to remember, when any punter starts having go big or go home type of action - it's time to take a few days off because something is not right and it needs to be corrected prior to resuming or it will resurface sooner each time until the punter loses one of those type of games and is then forced to take a break or worse (reload their accounts). And the same to you.

Took me a few years but I've definitely learned to stay away from the "go big or go home" attitude. I literally lost every "go big" game until I finally said enough was enough. Although I take a formula approach, I'm quite confident that I'll show profit over the long run. I only lose when I start hitting other games for the sake of action!

        Action is a cold-hearted bitch!

Let me first off say I'm glad you got tired of losing the go big/go home games and sorry for those losses but glad you've come to realize a system/formula/other term is the better and wiser way to go. That will save you all kinds of money over the years. If you're still in the 'need to have action on every game' phase, maybe cut it the unit to a smaller portion. Don't get me wrong, everyone goes through the every game phase but most don't learn when to say "enough". To expand this point a little further, I'll use myself - there are days when I literally have had something on every game and when those went down, go smaller (built in filters for both aspects) - that was one adjustment/tweak from last year's season to this one (removing the all/many in play). Sometimes when a person misses the day-to-day ledger and only looks at the end result. Had that filter been added to last season, another 40+ units would have been added to each half of the season. We are about a third of the way into this season and I'm up nearly one hundred units (0.09 short - close enough for this example/post) giving credence to this newest filter is working. Yes, I still get the urge to hit every game now and then, but don't as I know it will take down the account in the long run. Continued success to you and your family.

Thank you, this is why it takes seasons to get things just the way one likes them to obtain a steady return.

I think Jim Joyce should go ahead and hang it up with Junior, after a call like that. If you watch it over again, it looked like he was ready to punch him out but then says safe

And I thought Angel Hernandez taking a run off of the board for the Rays when he said Rodriguez missed 3rd (when he clearly touched it) was going to be the worst call of the night. Given the circumstances that might have been the worst call I have ever seen. It wasn't even close, had him by a full step.

One, I'm glad it's not just me who feels that way (live about 10-15 minutes from home plate). Two, while watching the game and listening to the radio, only & best way to enjoy the games imo, I truly wish I would have recorded either media for all to see and/or listen to what I saw and heard. Three, after the game Jim Joyce admitted he blew the call (radio interview) and it was the right thing to do but it won't change the outcome this gives the call for instant replay another piece of ammunition. Four, I was not about to be the first person to post this because some might say Lastly, now Joyce is schedule to be behind the plate for Thursday's afternoon game - oh goodie!

Jim Joyce Blows Call Costing AG A Perfect Game

Blown call costs Galarraga perfect game in 9th

By LARRY LAGE, AP Sports Writer 3 minutes ago

DETROIT (AP)—Armando Galarraga(notes) of the Detroit Tigers lost his bid for a perfect game Wednesday night with two outs in the ninth inning on a call that first base umpire Jim Joyce later admitted he blew.

First baseman Miguel Cabrera(notes) cleanly fielded Jason Donald’s(notes) grounder to his right and made an accurate throw to Galarraga covering the bag. The ball was there in time, and all of Comerica Park was ready to celebrate the 3-0 win over Cleveland, until Joyce emphatically signaled safe.

                                            The veteran ump regretted it.
“I just cost that kid a perfect game,” Joyce said. “I thought he beat the throw. I was convinced he beat the throw, until I saw the replay.”
“It was the biggest call of my career,” said Joyce, who became a full-time major league umpire in 1989.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland immediately argued the call and was joined by several of his players after the final out. Galarraga was trying to pitch the third perfect game in the majors this season.

Galarraga (2-1) was in complete control throughout the night. Then Donald’s groundball became the flash point of the night, and perhaps the season.
After center fielder Austin Jackson(notes) made a spectacular catch on Mark Grudzielanek’s(notes) leadoff fly in the ninth and Mike Redmond(notes) grounded out, Donald came up with two outs.

Galarraga caught Cabrera’s toss and smiled, knowing what he’d just done. He held up his glove hand and started to make an out call with his right hand.
And then Joyce made his call. Galarraga looked stunned and Comerica Park went silent in disbelief. A couple of Tigers put their hands to their heads.
Galarraga quietly went back to work as the crowd started to boo. Cabrera continued to argue the call as Galarraga quickly retired Trevor Crowe(notes) for the one-hit shutout.

Joyce faced a group of hostile Tigers—led by Leyland—between the pitching mound and home plate after the final out and was booed lustily by the crowd of 17,738 as he walked off the field.

“I don’t blame them a bit or anything that was said,” Joyce said. “I would’ve said it myself if I had been Galarraga. I would’ve been the first person in my face, and he never said a word to me.”

Roy Halladay(notes) of the Philadelphia Phillies pitched a perfect game Saturday night at Florida, and Dallas Braden(notes) of the Oakland Athletics did it against Tampa Bay on May 9. Until then, there had never been two perfect games in the same season in the modern era.

                                            Colorado’s Ubaldo Jimenez(notes) pitched a no-hitter, too, at Atlanta on April 17.
Galarraga struck out three and walked none, and was a most unlikely star. He was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on May 16 after pitching poorly during spring training, losing out in a competition for the final spot in the rotation to Dontrelle Willis(notes), who was traded Tuesday, and Nate Robertson(notes), who was dealt to Florida toward before the team broke camp.

The 28-year-old native of Venezuela had success in 2008, going 13-7, but he had done nothing quite like the masterful performance he had against the Indians.
He started with a 2-0 count against Crowe, then attacked the strike zone and kept most of the weakly hit balls on the infield.

Cabrera hit his 15th homer to give Detroit a 1-0 lead in the second inning and Magglio Ordonez(notes) had an RBI single in the two-run eighth.
Fausto Carmona(notes) (4-4) pitched well. He gave up three runs—two earned—on nine hits and no walks.

The Indians came close to getting a hit twice before their disputed single.
Galarraga almost became the first Tiger to throw a perfect game. Justin Verlander(notes) threw the sixth no-hitter in franchise history on June 12, 2007.

                                            ======================================== ======================

Having heard Joyce's voice, I am certain he is sorry for making the wrong call. It's part of the game (the human factor) and one could see the fans leaving the stadium in disbelief. This game, will go down in Tigers history and people will not forget the name Jim Joyce for many many DECADES.

I did not plan on going to the game tomorrow but under the circumstances, will be going there just to boo and heckle Joyce all game.

DET at home, like most other clubs, feels more relaxed and able to maintain their normal routine which translates to better performances on the field.

I was absolutely FURIOUS over this call!! I am not a fan of ANY team in baseball.

But I really enjoy watching "Historical Greatness in the Making".

I thought that I was going to witness another "Historic Moment in Sports".

                                                  Instead, I felt "robbed".

I think that the No-Hitter should still be credited.

Especially since he closed it out after that.

That's a No-Hitter.....MLB needs to get this right and credit the No-Hitter.

It's not like it changes the outcome of the game.

I think MLB has sooooooo much room for "error".......with the way they qualify "errors".......well then.....this is an "ERROR OF MASS PROPORTIONS" on their part. GET IT RIGHT!!!

                                                  Credit the No-Hitter!!!!!

Well said. Unfortunately, the decision will not be reversed and an "apology" will be given and then the league will wash it's hands of this mess. So wrong.
