This is my theory...

The Nationals are bad, they are very bad. It is a well known fact at this point in the season, yet sportsbooks still give the Nats some respect.

Here are some theories.

1) Maybe the lines they post are accurate but the Nats have been very unlucky.

Doubt it, its not like the Nationals are leading games into late innings and blowing the leads then, they are barely ahead in games at all.

2) Maybe the Nats are tanking on purpose for draft or "other" reasons

Possibly, but I really dont know

Simply put...

If the Nats were getting accurate lines, I highly doubt they would be -2372 (thank you Covers.com) Units at this point in the season and have a win percentage that is 12% below the 2nd worst team in the league (Arizona)

I know...they are terrible! They have a team ERA over 5...and rank last in the league...

Also they have been swept nine...yes nine times at home in the last two years!!!
