It's a trap. Don't do it. The Red Sox have the better offense, defense, and bullpen. Lannan can't pitch 8 innings every start.

I love taking them as huge dogs. Not big enough of a dog to warrant a play for me.

By gametime, the line should go up. Maybe if you wait it out, it'll be around +140 or so.

I don't even know if that's enough. Nats winning % is below .300 I just can't back a team like that against the best AL team. Good luck though.

Only way Nats have a chance, is if the game is extremely low scoring. Don't see it happening.

Besides why not wait until Game 3 of this series when you get Smoltz in his first game back. I'm all most sure he will not finish that game and the bullpen will be used extensively. Thats when the NATS will have value. But I still wouldnt lay money on them, when their is at least 13 other games everyday.

I believe the definition of a trap is a game that looks good on the surface but in reality is bad. IN this case, the Nats look good because Lannan has been good and they are underdogs at home. The Nats are the worst team in baseball for a reason. I wouldn't bet the Nats at +120.

Home underdogs look good if they are a decent team...and they are playing a team thats as good or maybe just slightly better.

However this is the worst team in the league at home against one of the best.

Nats have all the numbers in their favour tonight (slugging, whip, in their last 3 games etc.) ... And, while I hate going against CK, the Nats have only won 4 game-1's of a home series, against the Braves, Astros, Giants and Jays. None of those teams are even close to Boston caliber. Their overall game-1 home record is 4-8 which parallels their 12-23 record at home so they aren't losing more game 1's then they are losing overall at home, but still.

And they have yet to win a game 1 on the road.

My money's on the BoSox but heavy consensus tends to go to the books ...

22 teams have home records of .500 or better this year in MLB. Last licks is a huge advantage over the opposition. Nats were in this game until the bullpen came in. This team is terrible. Their bullpen blows almost every lead they get. They are the sucker play. +200are usually nice odds, but it isn't if you are betting on the nationals. Trust me on this one.

good call fifa.....the Nats do offer good value once in a while. Today I probably should have stayed away even though I thought theyd win since they werent getting enough juice.

In the future even if I do think they are the pick with sufficient value I've gotta take em 1st 5 innings because their bullpen is absolutely atrocious

I dunno. This nats team could be one of the worst in history. I've never been a fan of 1st 5 innings cuz it's a smaller time frame to predict when the team your betting on will take the lead.
