The Reds were swept by the Dodgers too on Wednesday. I may have missed it, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I think they play again on 8/19.

Why is Marlins unofficial? They're better than the Braves RPI-wise.

Also, according to the v2 rules because they lost the first game to a team that was 0.025 RPI worse than them, you're supposed to bet to win even more because the better team is more likely to win the next game.

As I write this, Bookmaker had Marlins at -150 and BetOnline at -144.

                            EDIT:

Never mind. The Marlins almost fit the v2 criterion but it didn't (not playing at home, didn't lose by 3 or more). Here are the rules for v2 system:

                            V2.0 System UPDATE:

The update here is designed to allow you even more action during the course of the baseball season by increasing your wager on betting opportunities that have an exceptional probability of betting success.
The change to this new v2.0 system is that you want to increase your stake on the [b] level when these 2 criteria are met:

The change to this new v2.0 system is that you want to increase your stake on the [b] level when these 2 criteria are met:
                            1. The team you’re betting on is playing at home.
                            2. The [A] bet that you made resulted in your team losing by 3 or more runs.

Similarly, you want to increase your stake on the [C] level when these 2 criteria are met:
                            1. The team you’re betting on is playing at home.
                            2. The [b] bet that you made resulted in your team losing by 3 or more runs.

Here’s an example of the v2.0 system in action:
During the 2008 MLB baseball season, the Detroit Tigers played the Minnesota Twins on the road from May 2nd to May 4th and were swept in all 3 games.
On May 23rd, they began another 3-game series with the Minnesota twins, this time at home. Since the Detroit Tigers fell within the accepted .01 range of RPI disparity with the Minnesota Twins at the time, the series was good to go for betting.

Yet, on 5/23/08, Detroit lost to Minnesota again on the [A] bet by a score of 4-9. Since Detroit lost by at least 3 points at the [A] level, and since they’re playing at home, this would make the [b] bet to fall under the criteria for betting in the v2.0 MLB system.
This means that the next day, on May 24th, you should increase your wagering amount by at least two-fold. So, let’s say that you lost $150 on the [A] bet with Detroit. Instead of betting to win $250 (to attain a $100 profit for the series) as you normally would do, you can double up and bet to win $350 (to attain a $200 profit for the series).
Indeed, the Detroit Tigers came back the next day and completely annihilated Minnesota by their season-record score of 19-3!
Now, I want to note to you that you should of course still make all the bets according to the v1.0 system. However, when a situation arises that meets the criteria of the v2.0 betting system, you should then increase your wager on that betting level by at least twice or more.

Agreed. Although last night Stanton and Yerlich were both out. I think they're supposed to play tonight, though. Are you guys playing enough to win 1u or more? I believe it's smart to wager enough to win more than 1u starting the second bet only because it's more likely that it'd win the 2nd game right?

What's whack is that I bet the Marlins last night at -150 to -155 thinking that the price would get worse but of course now my books (BetOnline, Bookmaker) had them as good as -120 and I think closed at an average price of -125 according to Vegas Insider.

Why do people believe the Marlins are good? They are average at best. They cannot win games they should.

Well, you do know this is a system, right? The system doesn't have any opinions or beliefs.

But, man! I'm torn. Do I bet Miami for bet 3 tomorrow? So dicey!

I am on RL and ML. Nervous but there was an earlier comment on here about how even if you lose a series, you can just take continue on the next series and wager enough to win all you lost and whatever else you want to win because back to back series losses are rare (although I think we've already seen back to back unofficial series losses).

Yea, I agree but if this thing goes south and you have to keep playing the marlins wow what that could do to the ole BR. I'm kinda thinking about running the numbers on what would happen if you play the third game to win the initial bet. Just curious if that would work out in the end better for series losses. For example if you play 10 on game 1 and lose then play 20 on game two and lose ( not taking juice in during this example) then for game three you play to win 10 again. This would mean you would be down 2 units if it hits (obviously would have won all units back plus 1 if had played the normal way) or lose 4 units with a third loss and 7 units total for the series if you play the normal way and it takes a series loss.

What I meant was (and what I think the other poster meant) that you're not betting on the same team after they lose the 2nd series. Instead you're betting to win all of your losses plus a unit (or more) on the next series in the system which would be a different team.

So, had the Marlins lost tonight, I would wager enough to win everything I lost this series and then some when I bet the first game of the Nationals vs Phillies which is the next series up on 5/30.
