    TOP PLAY 4 units!

    MIL BREWERS -1107:15PM
    RISK $410 TO WIN $400
SIMPLE as this… If the Brewers score 4 runs… We can't lose BOTH the side and total and while I don't expect to lose EITHER...these plays are SOLID because they are somewhat of a hedge of the other with a HIGH probability of seeing a similar result to last night's 12-1 MIL win.

As I mentioned in last night's write-up… The Brewers are the #1 HOTTEST offense in all of baseball over the last week and RHP Josh Smith (0-1, 5.63 ERA, 2.13 WHIP) is not going to stop them tonight. Smith's primary issue is command...and he WILL get wild. Disregard his start against the Mets...because it's the METS and look closer at the 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 6 WALK performance he put together against the Pirates as a better example of what he's "capable" of.

MIL cracks RHP and I have no worries about them getting 4 runs here...especially in an offensive HAVEN like Great American Ballpark...a TOP 10 park for offense.

Backing RH Jimmy Nelson requires extreme caution and potentially some drugs, but we've got the right side here from everything I'm seeing.

            OVER 8.5 MIL/CIN -1107:15PM
            RISK $110 TO WIN $100
MOST of my thoughts are ABOVE in the Brewers write-up...but we've got 2 "throw-in" starting pitchers in Nelson and Smith tonight. Smith has A WHIP over 2.00, which can only spell disaster if you're an UNDER bettor...but for us, his lack of control and tendency to get wild will put extra men-on-base that we'll need...and with MIL hitting .337 with 102 hits and 9 HRs over the last 7 days, it COULD get ugly tonight.

Nelson's ERA is approaching 5 and while he's clearly levels BETTER than Josh Smith...I'm not sure what that actually means, HA. BOTH of these guys have the potential to give up 8-9 on their OWN in all honesty and we just need a 4-4 game.

Neither bullpen is "reliable" and I know we can get some support late if we need it... OVER in this evening game...

VERY rare to get an 11AM EST start game...especially with the West Coast Giants involved...but already being ON the East Coast...I doubt it affects the on-the-field play much... This early game features a MARQUEE pitching matchup of Bumgarner vs. Strasberg...but the "big names" is where the similarities end.

Strasberg hasn't impressed me outside of a few specific starts and how could he with a 5.49 ERA and WHIP OVER 1.50... amazing to see how poorly he's thrown in spots and his ROAD #s are embarrassing (6.55 ERA, 43 hits allowed in 33 innings + 25 runs scored...not to mention opponents hitting .309 away from Washington. With the Giants having plenty of experience against the Nats right-hander...

Bumgarner is having a "down" year...which is still better than 99.9% of all MLB starters. He's got his ERA down to 2.99 and a sicko WHIP of 1.04...AKA Madbum is back. For such an up/down SF offense, he's still 8-4 this season and the Nats have only hit .209 against him in a fairly large sample size (109 AB.) With SF losing a close on last night 2-1, I'm expecting a bounce-back today. BOTH bullpens are hanging around the TOP 10 in runs and ERA, it I'd prefer the SF group for sure and think they'll be "fresher". I couldn't back the unpredictable Strasberg right now...and could say I considered the OVER too.

lets just move on to the next pick.. I could write something up about how this game ended but it's useless..

If you didn't notice, David Price was in a TON of discomfort in his last start and the sharp word on the street is he might be working through something. As always...it's ALL about perception and with Miggy going DOWN with the calf strain, we'll certainly see some better total #s with the Tigers...but with/without Cabrera, I expect them to hit RA Dickey.

Price has been the stopper the Tigers have needed, but I've seen him giving up a lot more over the last month to teams that don't typically HIT LHP...well...the Jays are the BEST team in baseball against left-handers and they've got solid history against Price.

BOTH bullpens FAIL my eye-test and we'll certainly have CHANCES later in the game...BUT the SOONER we get the bullpens...the better.

isnt this Detroit 13 straight game that went over the total. Enough said.

                      RISK $135 TO WIN $100
I'll keep this one brief...I wouldn't back the Phillies unless there were GREAT reasons to and I believe there are tonight. The pitching matchup will have the PUBLIC running to play the Braves with LHP Alex Wood getting the start opposite of RH Kevin Correia for the Phillies...I firmly disagree and considered playing the MONEYLINE here tonight and here's why...

First, the Phillies KNOW exactly what the Braves LH starter is looking to do and they've already BEATEN Wood twice this season...so there's that to lead off. Second, Kevin Correia has actually pitched quite well given his measurable and situation and while the Braves have done well against RHP overall this season, there haven't been many teams COLDER over the last few nights...even prior to the Philly series. Don't forget too that Freddie Freeman is STILL on the DL and won't torture us tonight.

BOTH bullpens are BAD...but the Braves I'd argue are worse off and the stats would agree. Prior to Teheran bringing the HEAT last night, the Phillies bats were cruising and with a familiar arm on the mound tonight, it's one of the few nights these PHI hitters will confident and that could spell disaster for ATL. There's no reason the Braves with Wood on the mound should be THAT big of a favorite...

Let's set the stage...it's July 4th... A LATE game and most have gotten drilled sll day from the early shenanigans. The PUBLIC is going for the inconsistent Angels while we swoop in and grab a TEX team that's 7-1 in Wandy Rodriguez's last 8 starts and a team in the Rangers that typically RAKES at their home ballpark, Globe Life Park...not to mention against Left-handed pitching ranking #3 in baseball in runs scored and trailing ONLY the Astros in HRs against lefties with 31.

I expect a very amped building for the 4th of July holiday game and I just see the Angels as too inconsistent at the plate... Not to mention we'll have an extra motivated Josh Hamilton here tonight.

I've discussed this matchup between these teams previously and I've discussed the venue and weather as well, but I'll blast out a quick rundown here...

RHP David Hale (COL) at LHP Patrick Corbin (ARI) and as I always joke...I typically play totals in which the data and matchup show ONE of the teams could get to this # tonight...let alone BOTH teams and I'm confident the bats wake up after a FLAT 4-3 game last night...and we get an ideal pitching matchup + Bullpen matchup to do so.

The venue is ideal with Chase Field in Phoenix...95* temps expected at first pitch and as I always say...it's becoming Coors Field South with teams blasting HRs in the heat coming in as the 9th ranked stadium in scoring overall. ADD in a 20MPH wind blowing out to right field...100% favorable.

Rockies starter David Hale is flat-out not good. He's got a 5.95 ERA and has already been HAMMERED by the D'Backs with the roster hitting .385 against him with a ridiculous 1.179 OPS. His road #s are bad despite a limited sample allowing 9 ER in 13 innings...works out to a 6.23 ERA...so vulnerable is an understatement.

On the other team, LHP Corbin is making his return from Tommy John and while I'm sure he's fresh/ready, he cannot be "sharp" and he guaranteed WILL NOT go deep into this game. Which means we see 1 and likely 2 of the worst bullpens in MLB. 'Zona ranks 25th (of 30) in terms of allowing runs...but they're still ahead of the WORST 'PEN...the Rockies relievers who rank DEAD LAST having allowed 18 more runs than the next worst team...the Rays. We have 2 good offenses and 2 BAD pitching staffs.

SHOULD BE A WINNER WINNER OR WORSE A PUSH!

I'm not sure if the books KNOW Verlander is NOT the same guy OR if they're just toying with the general public because of his "brand name"? Either way...there's NO way Justin Verlander (0-1, 5.09 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) deserves to be favored against such a dangerous TOR offense (#1 overall and #1 vs. RHP scoring 43 runs more than the 2nd ranked D'Backs)...especially with just 3 starts under his belt after returning from the DL. MUCH lesser teams have pounded him and I don't expect less from the Jays looking to avoid an UGLY sweep.

NO Miguel Cabrera and add in the fact that only 2 of the Tigers hitters have even SEEN Marco Estrada and you can't deny the advantage offensively with Toronto here. I'd say the bullpens are a wash...but I'd still take the TOR relievers over what DET has been throwing out there...

We've fired on the OVER again here and we're 3-0 so far this week with this matchup...and for GOOD reason. The Brewers are HOTTER than anyone...STILL the #1 offense over the last 7 days and they continue to fly up the charts after scoring another 7 last night. It's Taylor Jungmann vs. Mike Leake and I couldn't find any reason to back off of this play today...

Leake's BAD at Great American Ballpark with a 6.11 ERA this season. He's allowed a .310 BA and nearly DOUBLE the HRs than when he's away...which is purely a testament to how difficult it is to pitch in such a "hitter friendly" ballpark. (#9 in MLB)
Leake's been unpredictable and is coming off a 7ER outing against the Twins...so he's clearly lacking confidence.

Taylor Jungmann shows promise, but he's not the same guy on the road and I'm expecting him to struggle in CIN today against a dangerous Reds offense looking to avoid a sweep themselves here. We need a 4-4 game and the bullpens CAN help us get there if we need help late...

                                            RISK $100 TO WIN $100
I'm expecting offense in the early afternoon battle at Kauffman Stadium in KC...with Ervin Santana making his return to LIVE action from an 80-game suspension and Danny Duffy (2-4, 5.44 ERA, 1.63 WHIP)...the Royals lefty who's only made 2 starts himself since returning from a DL stint in mid-May.

The Twins are 2nd in ALL of baseball in runs scored against LHP...so I'm more than confident that the Twins can plate 4 runs...especially seeing a large sample of Duffy's "stuff" over his career (124 ABs). Duffy is struggling (clearly) and you don't want to see these MIN hitters when velocity/command are an issue...

Santana hasn't pitched in 2015 and you can't expect the guy to slow down THIS KC offense ranking #3 in MLB in batting average. Knowing Ervin well...he'll put a TON of pressure on himself in his debut...on the road...against a pissed off KC team off a loss.

The Royals 'pen can shut down ANY over play...but just how BAD this MIN bullpen truly is gives us a SOLID shot at a 4-4 game...or 8 totals runs minimum here.

We need a 4-4 game and the bullpens CAN help us get there if we need help late...
fell 1 run shy of the over 8 (7 runs)

The Angels have also seen Lewis once already this year and they've got SOLID history against him racking up more than 100 ABs and hitting .314 with a .314 with a .969 OPS.

We ONLY need a 4-4 game here and with how POORLY the Rangers bullpen has done ALL season long...now ranking 26th (out of 30) in terms of allowing runs with 123. The Angels 'pen looks better #s wise, but I don.'the trust any of their back-end guys...especially on the road. Easy choice for me to take the OVER...

I've got a TON of respect for Astros ace Dallas Keuchel and not so much of that same allure for Indians arm Carlos Carrasco. I'm well aware of the NEAR no-hitter and his recent success...but to have LH Keuchel as an underdog with the Indians struggling so badly against left-handers over the last 2 months....it makes NO sense and I don't see a trap here...

Keuchel (10-3, 2.03 ERA) is off 2 dominant performances against the Yankees and ROYALS...no chopped liver there. He's allowed ONE home run to a left-handed batter ALL year...and it just so happens this Indians lineup is LOADED with lefties...who pretty much ALL struggle to hit Keuchel.

I'm not goo-goo over Carrasco's NEAR no-hitter for a couple reasons...but mainly because it was the ICE COLD Rays that couldn't hit AND he tossed 124 pitches in an effort to get the no-no...so I highly doubt he "brings it" tonight against a DANGEROUS Astros lineup.

I love the Astros 'pen (#5 overall) as well here IF Keuchel can't go deep while I'm almost certain Carrasco only lasts 6 MAX following the BIG pitch count in his last.
