Oh, Friday's game was ridiculous. At the same time, went with friends and the kids outnumbered the adults 5 to 3 (all 9 and under) and they never would've made it through that game. Saturday's pitchers duel was quick enough that they made it into the 8th and we caught the 9th on my phone. Seventh inning Saturday was great, with Lester pitching out of a jam, pumping his fist on the 3rd out K, singing take me out to the ball game with Andre The Hawk Dawson, then two insurance runs in bottom of 7th (complete with sac fly from my favorite player in that game, Rizzo).Originally posted by McCarthyFam
Totally agree that this will be series to watch in the future. So much young talent in that game, and that was with Polanco out of the starting lineup for Rats and Baez still not back from his injury for Cubs. Lester held it together just enough, but as predicted, he was useless against the running game. It looked as if Marte was laughing when he got to second base.Comment -

well, since the current denominator is zero (don't think i've had a single 3* in any sport since bowl season 2013-14), there is no percentage. i know that i had some plays larger than 2* during that bowl season (hit 5* on Vandy, recall that). i generally go larger on bowl games, but since i was on break this bowl season, it's been quite a while.Originally posted by jameski999

i will note that, this MLB season, i'm nearly positive that i'm 0-2 on 2* plays. a few years ago, 2* was my standard play with a fair number of 3* and 4*/5* were rare. that resulted in huge swings so i became more conservative (and increased unit size some, but not by 2x).
