May 5: Yankees-Angels Over 8.5 [-110]
Following the trend with Weaver. Phelps for NYY. All six of Weaver's starts have gone OVERs this season. 11/14 of the Angels' home games have hit OVERs. The OVERs for Weaver can be attributed to two things. Solid run support and faulty bullpen time after Weaver leaves the game. He has given up 13 runs in his time on the mound in his starts with the bullpen yielding a whopping 20 runs once he leaves. Phelps is a bit of an unknown making his first start of the season after being in the pen until now. LAA is hitting .279 over their last ten games. Simply, they need to get those big hits with RISP more often to put up that consistent 5-6 runs every game.

Marlins seem too easy, right? I was hoping for 7, but 7.5 @ -105 for the Over. Colon has been torched in 2/3 road starts. Alvarez is on my fantasy team this week as a fill-in with two starts. Everyone lately like that for me has been pounded. MIA is still a strong hone OVERs, 14-4-1.

May 6: Rockies Team Total Over 5 [-125]
COL continues to rake against everyone @ Coors Field. They blasted TEX for eight runs yesterday and have now scored seven or better in 4/5 on their current homestand. For the season, they average 5.8 runs per game @ home, hitting over .300 against lefties. Ross goes for TEX. He was crushed in his last start by OAK for ten runs, six earned. That makes two of his last three starts where he surrendered at least seven runs. COL has also been giving today's starter Nicasio great run support @ home, averaging nine runs per home start (4) with no less than seven runs in any of those starts.

May 8: Tigers P Drew Smyly Total Ks Over 6 [-130]
In three starts, Smyly has whiffed at least six batters in two straight. He went at least six in those two after a shaky first start. HOU ranks 2nd in K rate among offenses. They have hit lefties better lately, but struggle against them generally on the road.Comment -

May 8: Mariners Team Total Over 3.5 [-115]Duffy makes just his 2nd start in place of Chen for KC. He did not get through 5 against DET. He was good, but continues to have some walk issues. Unlikely to go deep, SRA should get some bullpen time. KC has been adequate with a pen ERA just over 4.00. The Me have scored at least four runs in 11/13 overall.Comment -
May 9: Cubs-Braves Under 7 [-125]
Only two of Atlanta's last 12 @ home have seen at least eight runs total. Unders are 11-6-1 @Turner Field. Hammel is 3/3 in Unders on road starts this year, while Teheran has 3/4 hone starts that have gone Unders. Extremely important for Hammel to go deep to avoid the Cubs ' pen being involved early.Comment -

May 10: Twins-Tigers Under 8 [-105]
Gibson vs. Scherzer. Scherzer has UNDERs in 6/7 starts this season. Gibson has seen more OVERs, but that has been mainly from good offensive support where he is getting a shade of five runs per game from his lineup. He had a couple bad starts to end April, but bounced back with a dominant effort on the road against CLE: 7 IP, 0 ER. In six starts, he has given up one or no runs in four games. MIN is on a big UNDERs trend with eight of their last ten falling that way. Four of DET's five games on their current homestand have finished UNDERs. Obviously the longer Scherzer goes, the better with their bullpen still being very iffy. MIN's pen has been fairly reliable with a 3.57 ERA, but the longer Gibson goes - the more likely chance this has to cash.

May 10: Cubs P Jeff Samardzija Total Ks Over 6 [-115]
The lanky righty has only struck out six or better in three of his six starts, but goes against a team that he whiffed a career best 13 against last year. He's dominated most of the ATL lineup he has faced. He comes off a CG and has gone at least 7 in five of six this year. I think if he can go 7 or better today, he should at least push here. ATL ranks as the 7th most strikeout prone lineup on MLB.

Nicasio vs. Bailey. Both Nicasio and Bailey have seen OVERs hit in 6/7 starts this season. COL has seen OVERs in 13/18 on the road. Cincy's bullpen has been meaty, so if COL can get Bailey out early - there's lots of time against a pen with a 4.80 ERA.

May 12: Cardinals Team Total Over 4[-125]
Wood goes for CHC. He gave up three runs in a start against STL earlier in the season. STL scored five in that game. He has had a rougher time on the road with an 8.80 ERA. STL is hitting .309 vs. lefties in their last ten & quite a few regs have good #s against Wood. Cards have scored at least four in 7/10 overall & 7/12 home games.Comment -

May 13: Royals Team Total Over 3.5 [-125]
KC gets Morales for COL tonight. Although KC has not hit lefties well, .205 @ home, Morales has been very hittable lately. He has surrendered 15 runs in his last three starts.COL has allowed at least four runs in 3/5 on this current road trip. Their pen is decent with a 3.84 ERA, but can be had. KC has scored at least four runs in 5/8 overall.
May 13: Brewers OF Carlos Gomez Total H+R+RBI Over 2 [-125]
Gomez is 5/11 lifetime off tonight’s starter, Gerrit Cole. He’s hitting .364 in his last seven and is 7/26 against PIT this season with five RBI and four runs scored.

Got boned on the Gomez pick. He left in the 5th with back tightness. Would have had two shots to at least push after he had scored a run already and been on 3rd another time. Both though without benefit of a hit.Comment -

May 14: Astros Team Total Over 3.5 [-125]
Tepesch steps into the injury riddled Rangers rotation. He has been ripping up AAA hitting with an ERA under 2.00. Some would say that's perfect practice for the Astros. But this is "The Show" still. Tepesch started twice against HOU last season, allowing four ERs in one start and just one in the other. Both games though saw the Astros put up at least five runs. The TEX bullpen has been a major issue, especially on the road where the pen ERA is 5.88. HOU has scored at least four runs in 6/10 overall with the Rangers allowing that same number in that same span. HOU has also scored at least four @ home in seven of their last eleven.
