bad decision by hurdle to chase the division as i was saying for days, volquez was like a 10 era in the playoffs in his career, cole was a number 1 overall pick in the draft, bumgarner was awesome probably wouldnt have mattered anyways, just an embarrassing performance by the pirates overall

Guess the books were just plain wrong about this line, which was my gut instinct. I just couldn't figure out how SF could possibly be even money here.

I thought the line was exactly were it should have been given how both pitchers have pitched lately. My book had SF at -107 and it never moved...glad I got it though.

Tigers are in the -135 range to win the series, which is surprising to me given they don't have the home field advantage. I'd be careful wagering on the O's today. If Detroit doesn't win Game 1 with Scherzer, I think they'll have a hard time taking the series.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Ausmus clearly clueless as usual. There is no question Balti has a huge coaching advantage in this series.

It's Scherzer. He made a bad pitch. It's a percentage play with your ace on the hill. Doesn't mean the coach made the wrong decision in the 1st inning. Give me a break.

I didn't say it was Ausmus' call that particular time. That was on Scherzer. He knows better than to give Cruz something to hit.

Jones or Markakis hitting behind Cruz = you have to deal with him.

Pearce hitting behind Cruz = you try to get him to chase something, throw nothing over the heart of the plate, and take your chances with the next guy in the lineup.
