The Colorado Avalanche can win their first Stanley Cup championship since 2001 on home ice when they face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 of the Cup finals Friday. We've built a Lightning-Avalanche same-game parlay picks card to play for Game 5.

The Avalanche have a commanding 3-1 series lead, but the Lightning have taken them to overtime twice thus far.

Despite a couple of blowouts, we should be in for a competitive and entertaining affair, and below we'll break down a same-game parlay for Friday's tilt.

Here are my same-game parlay picks for Friday's Stanley Cup Final matchup between the Lightning and Avalanche (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NHL Same Game Parlay Predictions

Avalanche -1.5 (+135)

After being severely outplayed in the first period of Game 4, the Avalanche rebounded to outplay the Lightning the rest of the way, including a dominant performance in overtime when Avs forward Nazem Kadri slipped one by Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy for the win.

The Avalanche have dominated possession in this series, holding a 59.29-40.71 Corsi For percentage (CF%), and that will continue in Game 5 with the last change, allowing them to exploit better matchups for their stars.

They continue to hold a significant advantage in expected goals for percentage and have registered 11 more high-danger chances for than the Lightning. If not for Vasilevskiy, this series would be even more lopsided, but the goaltender has been sensational.

The Lightning are battling many injuries. Forward Brayden Point remains questionable, Nikita Kucherov is clearly not 100%, and defenseman Erik Cernak will likely be out Friday.

With their team depleted, look for the Avalanche to dominate the Lightning on home ice and pop an empty netter or two in.

Avalanche team total Over 3.5 (+100)

This is a corollary play based on the expectation that the Avalanche will cover the puckline.

The Avs are averaging 5.5 goals on home ice in this series, and with the anticipation that they will have the lead late, the Lightning will be forced to pull their goalie in a last-ditch effort to even the score.

This should provide the Avalanche an opportunity for a late insurance goal.

MacKinnon to score (+135)

After scoring his first goal of the series in Game 4 off a fluky deflection, we'll look for Nathan MacKinnon to score a proper goal in Game 5.

The Avalanche superstar is averaging 5.5 shots on goal per game and ranks first amongst postseason skaters with a 10.7 total individual expected goals mark.

Look for the fiery MacKinnon to put one behind Vasilevskiy and provide the offensive boost his team needs to win Lord Stanley's Cup.

Combined Odds: Avalanche -1.5 (+135) + Avalanche team total Over 3.5 (+100) + Nathan MacKinnon to score (+135) = +370
