After completely turning their young season around, the suddenly hot St. Louis Blues are set to spend Black Friday in Florida battling the Tampa Bay Lightning. Read on for our Blues-Lightning picks and predictions.

After an absolutely putrid start that featured an eight-game losing streak, the Blues are finally starting to score. They've racked up an impressive 7-1 record over their past eight games.

Meanwhile, the Lightning have tasted victory in four of their past five matchups. They're in the middle of the pack in a highly competitive Atlantic Division, with the NHL-leading Boston Bruins sitting atop the group.

With both St. Louis and Tampa storming into Friday’s showdown following a streak-breaking loss, who will leave Amalie Arena with the chance to start a brand new winning streak?

Here are my NHL picks and predictions for Friday night’s game between the Blues and Lightning (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5 scale).

Blues vs. Lightning Picks

Sbr Betting TicketThree Picks

Blues vs. Lightning ML Pick

Lightning (-180) ★★★★

With similar records over their past 10 outings, the Lightning remain the superior team in goals per game, goals surrendered per game, Corsi for percentage, expected goals against, and expected goals for percentage.

There isn’t a giant disparity in where the Blues and Lightning sit in the standings, but Tampa has been the more consistent team overall. Expect the Lightning to emerge victorious on home ice, where they’re 6-3-1. The Blues aren’t exactly road warriors while posting a 5-5 record.

Blues vs. Lightning O/U Pick

Over 6.5 (+102) ★★★★

The Blues are finally starting to light the lamp with more frequency while averaging 2.84 goals per game. They've been finding the back of the net 3.3 times per game over their last 10 contests. The team has also combined with its opponents to score seven-plus goals in four of the Blues' past five outings.

The Lightning are tickling the twine 3.37 times per game in 2022-23, with that number jumping up slightly to 3.6 during a recent 10-game stretch. They’ve combined with their opponents to top the seven-goal plateau three times over their past five outings.

Back the Over at plus money on Friday night with both teams experiencing a recent uptick in scoring.

Blues vs. Lightning Prop Pick

Nikita Kucherov Over 1.5 Points (+118) ★★★★

The 2018-19 Hart Trophy winner is absolutely stuffing the score sheet, racking up 28 points in 19 games while tied for sixth in NHL scoring. He's recorded three multi-point games over his past five appearances, and Kucherov has registered nine such outings on the season.

He's actually logged more multi-point games than one-point contests thus far, and I’m expecting more of the same on Friday night.
