Sunday's matchup kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, airing on CBS. The Vikings are priced as a slight 1.5-point home betting favorite.

There are too many factors pointing to this being a low-scoring matchup, including the absence of Packers running back Josh Jacobs and the aggressive scheme of Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

There aren't many DCs better at disrupting opposing offenses than Flores, especially at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings' defense allowed an average of 14.9 points at home last season.

The opening total of 44.5 gave me some pause, but the current total being two points higher makes backing the Under an easy call. There's value paying up to -118 at 46.5 at the best sports betting sites.

Kyler Murray struggles

While he's an efficient quarterback that I believe will have a solid first season in Minnesota, I'm fading Kyler Murray in his Vikings debut this Sunday.

After attempting just three passes in the preseason, this is his first real game action in a brand-new offense that is built on precise timing. Murray also draws a tough assignment against a speedy Packers defense.

Green Bay is elite at containing opposing quarterbacks, like Murray, who rely on their scrambling ability. The Packers ranked sixth-best in quarterback rushing yards allowed in 2025. That limits Murray's ceiling in Week 1, as well as the Vikings'.
