When this line opened, the Cowboys were favored by 6 points. That seemed like a fair number and one that might be in danger of going above the key number. However, after the near debacle against the Texans, the spread has dropped all the way to -4. On Pregame.com, 58% of cash is on the Jaguars and 68% of tickets are on the Cowboys.

As for the total, the number opened at 45.5 and it has shot up to 48. On Pregame.com, 84% of both tickets and cash are on the Over.

There is no denying that last week was bad for the Cowboys, but they did manage to get the win. They have been prone to letdown games. Don’t forget, just five games ago, they blew a 28-14 lead against the Green Bay Packers. The next week, they went to Minnesota and beat the Vikings 40-3.

The Jaguars have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league this season, and they have traded wins and losses over the last six weeks. For as great as they looked last week against the Titans, they looked just as bad the week before against the Lions. Yet, they have also beaten the Baltimore Ravens and destroyed the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this season.

With both teams unpredictable, it’s best to avoid the spread. Instead, the play is on the Over. The Cowboys’ offense is one of the most explosive in the league, and they are averaging 27.6 points per game. 

The Jaguars are allowing 22.6 points per contest, and they have allowed 20 or more points in eight consecutive games. During that stretch, their offense has scored at least 14 in every game. That doesn’t sound like much, especially against a team allowing just 17.6 points per game. But the Cowboys have allowed 19 or more to three consecutive opponents, and they have not faced a single good offense during that stretch.
