Last week, they managed just seven points against the 49ers, and the week before, they had just three points against the New Orleans Saints before springing a miraculous comeback with three minutes remaining.

But for as bad as their offense has been, the defense has been solid with the exception of last week. They’re allowing just 19.5 points per game, which has helped them keep the total in eight of their last nine games below 44.

The Bengals are hot right now, but they haven’t been blowing anyone away with their offense. In the last three weeks, they have scored 20 points in every game, but they have not cleared 30. Additionally, they have held two of their last three opponents to fewer than 20 points. The only one who broke that number was the Chiefs.
