Rockets vs. Thunder NBA Player Props, Odds: Picks & Predictions for Tuesday
Our Rockets vs. Thunder NBA player props based on the best NBA odds project a tough night for Oklahoma City star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Tuesday in his second straight contest against Houston.
The Oklahoma City Thunder (40-17) staged a remarkable second-half comeback on Sunday while securing a 123-110 victory over the Houston Rockets (25-32). These two teams meet again Tuesday in a rare back-to-back rematch that tips off at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.
That win on Sunday marked the fifth straight for the Thunder, who have surged into a tie atop the Western Conference standings and remain strong contenders by our latest NBA Finals odds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 30-plus points in all five of those wins, including an efficient 36 points on 23 shots his last time out.
It was an uncharacteristic defensive performance for the Rockets, who rank eighth in the NBA in defensive rating (112.8) even after that loss. Offense has been a much larger issue for Houston, which sits 4.5 games out of the 10th spot in the West, and the team is a long shot by the latest NBA Play-In Tournament odds.
To accompany our NBA best bets and 76ers-Celtics predictions, here are our best Rockets vs. Thunder NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Gilgeous-Alexander has been one of the NBA's hottest players, and he's dealing as the second choice by the latest NBA MVP odds for a reason. But this total is still too high for the OKC star.
Yes, the sixth-year stud registered a cool 36 points when these teams met on Sunday. But he'd fallen short of this total in his previous two games and six of nine contests in February. He's also been vulnerable to a scoring dip following significant outings, averaging 30.2 points immediately after scoring 35-plus.
The Rockets have quietly been trotting out one of the NBA's best defenses in their first year under Ime Udoka, ranking in the top 10 in defensive rating (112.8) even after Sunday's loss. This line feels like a slight overreaction to SGA's big game over the weekend, so we'll bite the bullet and fade the Thunder star in this one.
Alperen Sengun Over 9.5 rebounds (-122 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
For as good as Houston's defense has been this year, Oklahoma City has been even better. But the Thunder have struggled mightily on the boards.
OKC ranks 29th in total rebounding rate (45.4%) entering Tuesday, with bottom-three marks on the offensive glass (24.7%) and defensive glass (68.2%). Unsurprisingly, the Thunder have surrendered the third-most rebounds per game to opposing centers (16.1). That's to be expected when a team starts six players listed at 6-foot-8 or shorter, and its center barely weighs 200 pounds.
Sengun took full advantage of that undersized frontcourt on Sunday, securing 12 rebounds over 29 minutes with five on the offensive end. It marked the second straight game with 12 rebounds for the rising third-year star, who has now grabbed double-digit boards in 12 of his last 17 starts (70.6%).
You need to pay a bit extra on this prop, but the Over is dealing at -135 or worse across three of our five best sports betting sites, including as short as -142 via Caesars. Sign me up for these -122 odds via FanDuel in a major mismatch.
Josh Giddey Over 0.5 blocks (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐
It's been a tough season for Giddey, who has regressed across the board following his breakout sophomore season. He's been so bad offensively that some have called for the former top-six pick to get yanked from the starting unit in recent weeks.
Bot for as lousy as he's been as a scorer and facilitator, the 6-foot-8 guard has been incredibly active defensively. After blocking just 18 total shots through his first 43 starts, he's recorded at least one block in 11 of his last 13 games. Giddey also finished with a block and three steals during Sunday's win in Houston.
Giddey is clearly fighting for his job and a long-term place in the Thunder's rotation, which has been obvious for weeks with his effort on the defensive end. I'd expect a similar showing in his second straight crack at the Rockets, who are ceding the second-most blocks to opposing point guards (0.84).
The third-year guard is dealing at +165 via bet365 to finish with at least two combined blocks and steals on Tuesday, which is a worthwhile bet at that price. If I had to choose one wager, though, I still prefer this more straightforward bet on him to smother at least one shot on Tuesday.
