The NBA All-Star Game is set for Sunday, but the teams won't be decided until the draft just prior to the contest. Read on for our NBA picks for this year’s draft based on the best NBA odds.

For the first time ever, the NBA All-Star Game Draft will take place right before the game. This year's draft is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be televised on TNT and TBS. LeBron James (West) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (East) are the two captains once again and will pick their respective teams before the action gets underway.

James has first pick after being the overall leading vote-getter in the All-Star balloting process. DraftKings has released odds for who will be the No. 1 overall pick ahead of this year’s draft, which provides an interesting chance to increase your bankroll.

Here is our best NBA All-Star Draft pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NBA All-Star Draft Pick

Luka Doncic (+310 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Picture your most hardcore league mate during your fantasy football draft every August. That’s what James is like in this event, keeping a written list of players who are available during this draft. He has actually selected Giannis with the first pick in each of the last two drafts when Kevin Durant served as the opposing captain.

With Antetokounmpo no longer an option, we believe James will select Luka Doncic with his first pick on Sunday. Captains have to pick from the starter pool first, but it's telling that James selected Doncic as his first reserve in last year’s draft. James also nabbed Luka as the third starter in the 2021 draft, only after picking Giannis and Stephen Curry.

Team LeBron has won this event four years in a row, which includes back-to-back victories over Team Giannis in 2019 and 2020. James wants to win, but he also has his regulars when it comes to who he prefers to play with. Luka has been on his team in each of the last three events, while Joel Embiid (the second-favorite in this market) has never been picked by LeBron.

Luka is a worthy favorite and selection in this unique market, leading the league in scoring with an average of 33.2 points per game to go along with 8.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists. Bet on the favorite here, and enjoy a nice +310 payout come Sunday.
