Bryson DeChambeau is the 54-hole leader by a 3-stroke margin as we look at the U.S. Open Round 4 odds from our best golf betting sites heading into Sunday at Pinehurst No. 2.

Bryson DeChambeau battled through some hip issues to grab control of the 2024 U.S. Open leaderboard at Pinehurst No. 2. The 2020 U.S. Open champion leads the third major of this year by a 3-stroke margin at minus-7 through 54 holes.

DeChambeau will be paired in Sunday's final group with Matthieu Pavon (minus-4), while Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay match Pavon at that number in a three-way tied for second.

Ludvig Aberg, the 36-hole leader and previous tournament favorite, stumbled Saturday to drop to minus-2 and enters Sunday T-5 with Hideki Matsuyama.

U.S. Open Round 4 picks

Patrick Cantlay to birdie any par 3 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Despite being three strokes behind leader, Patrick Cantlay finds himself T-2 on the leaderboard entering Round 4.

Cantlay managed to go even par on Saturday, converting a pair of birdies and bogeys to remain at 4-under. His last birdie came on the par-3 17th, where the Californian hit his tee shot within 20 feet, leading to a clutch birdie putt to get back to even par and generate a bit of momentum for Sunday’s final round.

Cantlay has recorded a birdie on a par 3 in all three rounds played, so at +188 odds at BetMGM, we’re getting great value on this prop. A one-unit wager is recommended for a profit of $18.80 on a winning $10 bet.

Collin Morikawa Over 3.5 birdies or better in Round 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

After an awful Round 2, recording only one birdie and five bogeys, Collin Morikawa bounced back on Saturday, playing a bogey-free round that saw him convert four birdies.

Round 1 was also a mixed bag for Morikawa, double bogeying two par 3s but finishing with back-to-back birdies on the final two holes to get to even par. He wound up recording five birdies in Round 1 and four in Round 3, so there’s a strong chance, sitting at T-9 on the leaderboard, Morikawa makes another similar run on Sunday.

Morikawa is sitting at even par, which means he’s seven strokes off the lead. Without the burden of high expectations and not playing in the final pairing as he did with Scottie Scheffler at Muirfield Village Golf Club last week, we should expect at least four more birdies from Morikawa on Sunday, as he’s already achieved this feat twice at Pinehurst No. 2.

Another one-unit wager is recommended to grab Morikawa’s Over 3.5 birdies or better prop in Round 4.

How to bet on golf

Betting on the U.S. Open golf tournament requires understanding the unique challenges presented by the course and conditions, especially when it's held at Pinehurst No. 2. Here’s a guide to help you get started:

First, familiarize yourself with the different types of bets available. Common options include outright winner bets, where you pick the golfer you think will win the tournament. For example, you might see odds like +300 for a favorite like Scottie Scheffler, meaning a $10 bet would return a profit of $30 if he wins.

Head-to-head matchups are also popular. In these bets, you pick which of two golfers will have the better score in the tournament. For example, you might bet on Xander Schauffele at -120 to beat Rory McIlroy at +100, meaning you risk $12 to win $10 if Schauffele scores lower. Prop bets focus on specific events within the tournament, such as betting on whether there will be a hole-in-one or the performance of a particular golfer on a certain hole.

Pinehurst No. 2 is known for its challenging greens and difficult roughs, which can significantly impact player performance. When betting on the U.S. Open at Pinehurst, consider golfers who excel in accuracy and putting. Additionally, look at recent form and past performances at similar courses.

Research the players, paying attention to their recent tournament performances, course history, and any injuries or changes in form. For example, if a golfer has a strong track record at courses with difficult greens, they might be a good bet for Pinehurst No. 2. Factor in weather conditions as well, as they can influence play significantly.
