This SEC showdown with College Football Playoff odds implications is arguably the game of the week in college football for Week 11, as the Ole Miss Rebels host the Georgia Bulldogs.

  • Georgia is coming off a 34-20 win over Florida, its 39th straight against teams not ranked in the AP Poll
  • Ole Miss’ 63 points against Arkansas last week ties its record for the most against an SEC opponent
  • The Bulldogs still have some of the best college football championship odds despite already having only one loss

While our Georgia vs. Ole Miss predictions and odds recognize that oddsmakers are giving the Rebels their best chance to knock off the Bulldogs in recent memory, we're leaning toward the Under.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It may seem blasphemous to back the Under in a game involving an Ole Miss team that set a bunch of offensive records last week. Still, the weather forecast in Oxford is calling for a high probability of rain, which should compromise Ole Miss’ high-powered passing attack led by Jaxson Dart.

Furthermore, Georgia’s offense has looked shaky in recent weeks despite coming off a 34-point performance against Florida. Carson Beck has thrown 11 interceptions, all in the last five games, and his three games with three-plus interceptions this season are the most among FBS quarterbacks.

Moneyline

This game has the makings of a “Pros vs. Joes” betting split. The public is likely to back the Bulldogs given the program’s recent success winning national titles, not to mention their big road win at Texas.

Sharps will recognize that Ole Miss has beaten Georgia just once in 12 meetings since 1997, yet the Rebels will still get plenty of support on the moneyline given the Bulldogs’ recent struggles.

Spread

  • Georgia best odds: -2.5 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Ole Miss best odds: +3 (-115) via DraftKings

Though there is just a half-point difference in the point spread among our best college betting sites, it represents a significant difference, given that DraftKings’ spread lands on the key number of three.

DraftKings is the only shop offering Ole Miss +3, and I expect it to align with the rest of its competitors at +2.5 (or lower) throughout the week given how dominant Ole Miss looked last week.

Meanwhile, Georgia trailed Florida 13-6 at halftime, and the perception of point-spread bettors may be that the Bulldogs were fortunate the Gators lost their quarterback to a hamstring injury in the first half.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 54.5 (-105) via FanDuel
  • Under best odds: 54.5 (-110) via BetMGM

Both teams are profitable to the Under this season. Georgia’s O/U record is 3-5 entering the week, while Ole Miss has seen the Under cash in seven of its nine games.

The initial line movement could shade to the Over as a response to Jaxson Dart’s school record of 515 passing yards and six passing touchdowns last week.

But if the forecast remains with a 100% chance of rain, Under backers will want to place their wagers early before the total ticks down as a response to the inclement conditions.
