Week 2 of the college football season is the time to cash in on overreactions from season openers in Week 1, which is why I have three college football upset picks to tail ahead of this weekend. Each of these teams is within +4.5 points on the spread, including a pair of home underdogs.

This is my debut with college football predictions, so let's start strong and build our bankroll with a profitable finish by taking three underdogs on the moneyline during Week 2.

🚨 Best college football underdogs to bet: Week 2

🎯 Rutgers moneyline (+136 via DraftKings)

Yes, Rutgers' opening loss to UMass was a massive and shocking upset. The Scarlet Knights have to dig deep to respond after a humiliating loss at home. Fortunately, they are getting a prime opportunity as a +3-point underdog on the road against Boston College on Friday night.

The Eagles are not a formidable opponent. Boston College just gave up 5.5 YPC, over 250 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns during a 34-15 loss to Cincinnati in Week 1.

Rutgers has moved from +3.5 down to +3.0. The Scarlet Knights fell into a 24-7 deficit to UMass after jumping out to a 7-0 lead. Rutgers went on to finish with over 300 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air, while its rushing attack was shut down.

Boston College allowed Cincinnati to post a 73 percent completion rate with a touchdown, while surrendering tons of chunk plays in the run game. It's a perfect defense for Rutgers.

Go to DraftKings and bet on Rutgers' moneyline at +136 odds.

📡 SBR Edge: Eagle Down

Boston College has failed to cover the point spread in nine of its last 10 games played as a favorite during September.

🎯 North Texas moneyline (+150 via Caesars)

North Texas is coming off a brutal opener on the road against the defending champions. Playing Indiana should prepare the Mean Green for a softer matchup back on home turf against UNLV.

The Rebels' offense has been balanced in its first two games. UNLV was held to 8-18-116 passing in a 21-6 road win over Hawaii, leaning on a heavy run-centric game plan that saw QB Jackson Arnold and the rest of the offense post 5.8 YPC, 248 rushing yards, and 3 touchdowns on the ground.

Memphis logged 5.7 YPC against UNLV's defense in Week 1. North Texas has new personnel, but its offense led the nation in points per game (45.1) in 2025. In fact, the Mean Green finished with more total yards of offense than the Hoosiers last Saturday.

Expect a potential shootout and a high-scoring affair between UNLV and North Texas. The Mean Green post their first win of the season as a +3.5-point home underdog.

🎯 Florida Atlantic moneyline (+175 via bet365)

We've got an early-season American Conference tilt between Navy and Florida Atlantic in Week 2. The Midshipmen's offensive scheme is no secret, leaning primarily on a triple-option rushing attack.

Florida Atlantic gave up a ton of production to Florida in a 66-21 loss to the Florida Gators in Week 1. However, the Owls are only getting +4.5 at home, implying oddsmakers think they have a shot to take down Navy.

The Midshipmen's defense gave up a 73 percent completion rate for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns to Towson (FCS) in Week 1. Of course, they specialize in shutting down the run, but Florida Atlantic's offense still managed a 64 percent completion rate for over 275 yards on 53 attempts against the Gators.

If Navy has an empty possession, they aren't built to mount a comeback or erase a deficit. Florida Atlantic doesn't have to worry about a passing attack, meaning they can load the box. The Owls stand out as a great home underdog pick in Week 2.

Let's bet on Florida Atlantic's moneyline at +175 odds on bet365.
