Kansas +5.5 (-110 via Caesars) vs. Missouri

A few weeks ago, the Kansas Jayhawks were full touchdown underdogs against the Missouri Tigers in lookahead lines. This falling to +5.5 is not a surprise, as true college football fans would always hone in on this rivalry as a moment to back the home team.

The hatred here extends back to the Civil War, Missourians leading a massacre in Lawrence, and Kansas fans will gladly point out, Missouri wears rebel gray for a reason.

Homefield advantage, returning offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki and a genuine rivalry should all spark underdog thoughts.

The Tigers losing running back Malae Fonoti — a Montana transfer — with an ACL tear last week does not help Missouri’s cause, but Fonoti is certainly not worth 1.5 points on a spread. Rather, this is simply the correct action during game week.

This spread should reach at least -6, if not -7.

Tennessee -12.5 (-110 via FanDuel) at Georgia Tech

Losing a sloppy game against Colorado bodes poorly for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as they try to find offense with both quarterback Haynes King and offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner off to more prosperous pastures.

That downgrade is not quite fully understood by the market.

Expect the No. 18 Tennessee Volunteers to be full two-touchdown favorites by kickoff.

Oregon -22.5 (-110 via DraftKings) at Oklahoma State

This should reach at least -23, which may not seem like a big move, but it is a key number to get ahead of. The No. 6 Oregon Ducks are going to be a bit angry after their close call last week against Boise State, and Ducks head coach Dan Lanning is one to emphasize that anger.

The current Oklahoma State Cowboys did nothing to deserve Oregon’s wrath, but they are going to receive it. And the Ducks’ defensive line should feast against a Cowboys’ offensive line that is so concerning that it has rendered last year’s North Texas offense a wreck in Stillwater.

Washington State vs. Kansas State Over 48.5 (-112 via BetMGM)

The Kansas State Wildcats hung 71 points in Week 1 against FCS-level Nicholls State. New head coach Collin Klein and mercurial quarterback Avery Johnson will obviously not reach those heights every week, but this will be an offense-driven team.

Meanwhile, the Washington State Cougars struggled to just 10 points in an Apple Cup loss. Nonetheless, new head coach Kirby Moore should find an offensive rhythm. That is why he was hired.

Catching this total below the key number of 49 is vital.

UTSA Moneyline (+101 via Caesars) at Texas State

One could argue the UTSA Roadrunners should be notable favorites in this matchup. The Texas State Bobcats are in for a tough season, while UTSA is led by veteran quarterback Owen McCown and a strong offense.

Expect UTSA to reach kickoff as a favorite, if not even by a field goal.

Miami 1H -31.5 (-114 via FanDuel) vs. Florida A&M

If Malachi Toney has five catches in the first half, the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes may be covering this spread. Quick-strike offensive scores and repeated forced three-and-outs are a recipe for Miami to lead FCS-level Florida A&M by 49 before halftime.
