Saint Peter's Pulls Off Upset Over Purdue on National Peacock Day
The 15th-seeded Saint Peter’s Peacocks not only pulled off the largest upset of Sweet Sixteen action with their 67-64 win over the No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers on Friday, but the Peacocks have now advanced further than any other No. 15 seed in the Men’s NCAA National Championship Tournament history.
Additionally, Saint Peter’s is the highest seeded team to ever advance to the Elite Eight.
Talk about showing up for your mascot on National Peacock Day, as this Cinderella team has another partner on its dance card Sunday with lots of time before midnight threatens to strike.
