The new NFL season is almost upon us, with preseason action underway, and we're seeing one of the biggest names in the world of prediction market apps joining the fray of "combos."
The season officially gets underway on Sept. 9, giving Polymarket a little over a month to iron out any issues with the beta offering. Polymarket has begun to beta test multi-leg parlay trades on its US exchange. The first official beta combo on the US exchange was completed on August 5. Some competitors took this step last season, and it is likely to be a major source of trading volume this season.
It's another convergence between prediction markets and the best sports betting sites. Traders can link multiple outcomes into a single high-yield position. This betting style has consistently produced the highest margins for sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings.
Once they place their selections together (such as a moneyline, total, and player prop), the trader gets a combined price, which they have five seconds to accept or decline. The company debuted combos this summer on its offshore platform.
Busy season of deals
Polymarket has been active in August, beyond launching combos, signing deals across multiple sports.
The company struck a sponsorship agreement with the New York Yankees earlier in the month. That deal, which runs through the end of the MLB season, includes getting Polymarket branding on signage throughout Yankee Stadium, including LED displays that will run before and during home games.
Polymarket will also get a rotating spot on signage behind home plate during locally televised Yankees broadcasts on the YES Network and Prime Video.
The company has also inked a deal with On3, one of the largest college football media outlets in the country. As the exclusive prediction market partner, the company will have its trading data woven into its articles, videos, podcasts, newsletters, and social channels starting with the 2026 season.
On3 says it draws more than 25 million fans a month, and coverage will span conference races, postseason outcomes, and coaching changes.
