A lingering back injury will keep Paul Casey out of a third consecutive major championship, as the Englishman has withdrawn from next week’s U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, MA.

The 44-year-old veteran hasn’t teed it up competitively since finishing third at The Players Championship in March.
Two weeks later, Casey conceded consecutive matches at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play before withdrawing ahead of his third match.
